Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community.  We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center.  The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.  We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health.  The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Plant Operations and Safety Officer. The Director of Plant Operations and Safety Officer will ensure/supervise the operations of the physical plant, engineering maintenance and ensure that all safety issues, fire and disaster hazards are dealt with in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide supervision of the physical plant, engineering maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Provide and /or ensure ongoing training of staff.
  • Ensure completion of preventative maintenance, participation in budgetary planning and fiscal maintenance.
  • Act as hospital safety officer and develop/monitor safety/disaster plan for the hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and credentialing agencies’ requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate completion of all non-routine plant management projects.
  • Secure competitive bids for contract projects.
  • Know and adhere to hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Meet staff development/training requirements for position.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Education:   High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Experience:   Minimum of five (5) years engineering, maintenance or building construction. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Licensure:  Texas Driver's License
  • Additional Requirements:  Must complete and maintain training in CPR and HWC – aggression management, crisis intervention and restraint training. Training may be obtained during first week of employment during new hire orientation.
