The Projections Capabilities Team is a newly created area as part of the Actuarial Projections Center of Excellence.  The Capabilities team is responsible for working with multiple business partners such as Modeling CoE and Finance to:
  • Drive the development of capabilities to support full financial projections (including balance sheets and income statements) for the actuarial domestic BUs
  • Enable to Projections CoE to utilize those projections to proactively develop insights and analysis to influence and drive business decisions, and,
  • Support the Deterministic Projections Capabilities (DPC) Program to ensure actuarial projection capabilities can support stress testing requirements.
The Capabilities Process and Data Strategy Team within the Capabilities Team will partner directly with the Modeling Center of Excellence as well as the broader Projections CoE to drive to creation of an implementation road map for projection end to end processes, in alignment with overall DPC strategic vision and objectives.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead the development of Journey Maps to illustrate the incremental progress and strategic vision for financial projection platforms and surrounding model processes
  • Drive execution across the Projections Capabilities Team by serving as an agile coach and working with team leads to transform Journey Maps into executable sprint plans
  • Facilitate culture building and best practice sharing through SharePoint site management and other creative measures.
  • Lead the process map creation of existing and to be projection processes
  • Serve as a technical process expert for projection related processes.  Help define future state vision for these processes.
  • Support the development of the implementation path for short- and long-term needs of actuarial data transmission to downstream process across various projection process
  • Support model development lifecycles; ensuring models meet the needs of end consumers
  • Serve as a DPC Point of Contact across Actuarial Projections by helping to roll up and report on DPC Actuarial Program Information
  • Lead project workstreams as applicable

  • 4 years experience in an actuarial function or process and control function.  ASA is a plus.
  • High-energy individual who brings positivity and optimism to their work
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with a high degree of curiosity on current processes and systems
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of model and system development lifecycles
  • Ability to conceptualize and communicate complex processes and inter-relationships
  • Ability to collaborate to develop creative yet practical solutions to challenging problems in order to meet the needs of customers
  • Ability to translate effectively between business needs and technical solutions (i.e., between model end users and model builders)
