Position Title: Director, Actuary (Long Term Care)

Job Location: New Jersey-Newark


The position will be an integral part of the Long Term Care (LTC) business unit’s actuarial team. The LTC line of business includes both individual products and group products. The individual will be a leader of the AAT (Asset Adequacy testing) team in LTC Projections.

The candidate responsibilities include:

◦Lead the team to perform the processes including Asset Adequacy Testing, deterministic stress testing, AAT forecast, or any other risk framework request(s)
◦A key contributor to Corporate initiated and AAT related projects
◦Lead the team to perform future AAT system conversion
◦Participate in the enterprise initiative of DPC for AAT
◦Enhance actuarial processes to improve efficiency and productivity to be in compliance with actuarial models validation, maintenance and risk management requirements
◦Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders including Corporate, Internal/External Audit, Finance, and IT
◦Supervise direct reports, improve actuarial talent and inspire team to high performance and full potential

- Actuarial training (ASA required, FSA preferred).

- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or higher degrees preferred

- Strong actuarial modeling experience

- LTC product knowledge and experience preferred.

- Strong financial knowledge (GAAP, Statutory, Asset, ALM)

- Strong computer skills (Excel, Access, VBA)

- High level of self-motivation and ownership of results

- Team leadership skills and project management skills

- Analytical, interpersonal, time management and communication skills

- Willingness to develop and learn
