The Director & Actuary – Modeling COE GGY AXIS Development, is a position that will play a leadership role in the development of the evolving framework, models, and infrastructure for the Enterprise Asset and Liability Platform.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models for assets and reinvestments, as well as hedging strategies that will be part of the company’s enterprise asset liability projection platform for multiple lines of business, which can be leveraged for many uses (asset adequacy testing, pricing, portfolio strategy and tactics analyses, stress testing, risk aggregation, etc.) 
  • Develop and maintain long-term asset/liability modeling platform for Prudential Retirement’s entire book of business that may serve the many purposes as described above 
  • Build, parameterize, and optimize the creation of a production environment for ALM and investment-related modeling, helping to ensure a controlled and optimized modeling platform 
  • Develop enterprise ALM processes that facilitate end-to-end and seamless user experience for modeling runs, sensitivities, and attribution analyses for multiple lines of business 
  • Partner with Research and Testing team to develop and refine ALM modeling needs in support of product development, valuation, and business management for the Retirement lines of business
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate corporate governance, controls, and documentation policies/procedures
  • Partner with Governance, Forecast, Valuation, and Operation teams, to identify and explore opportunities to enhance retirement models and effectively support business needs

  • Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries designation (FSA) with at least 7 years of actuarial modeling experience. Chartered Financial Analyst ® (CFA) a plus
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Economics, Business, Science-based, or other analytical fields 
  • Proficiency in the use of actuarial modeling software in GGY AXIS is desirable. Experience in other actuarial platforms such as TAS, MoSes, MG-ALFA, Prophet, PolySystems, etc. will also be considered
  • Extensive industry knowledge and experience, focusing on Retirement Products, valuation, asset/liability management, and risk management work 
  • Strong knowledge of asset and derivative modeling techniques 
  • Ability to partner with other quantitative resources to build controlled production-environment quantitative models and tools
  • Ability to convey a sense of urgency and to work productively with internal and corporate business partners (ALM, product, actuarial, finance, tax, treasurers, etc.)
  • Collaborative and team-oriented leadership and work style
  • Quantitative actuarial/asset/investment/risk modeling experience
  • Self-motivated individual with strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Visual Basic
