Description:
TITLE:            Director, Actuary (The Prudential Insurance Company of America –Roseland, NJ)
 
DUTIES:         Direct and perform experience study for actuarial assumptions to support group benefit pricing models. Identify potential risk drivers and direct data mining efforts to improve Group benefit Pricing model. Direct and build comprehensive Pricing model to improve risk selection and support substantial profitable growth. Recommend pricing strategy for new business and renewal. Contribute to the pricing strategy setting process. Build a proprietary tool forcase level holistic profitability study, both group life and disability, and work on other cross- business projects. Ensure data quality and tool accuracy. Direct and prepare new business reporting for group insurance business.

REQTS:          Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Insurance, Statistics, or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offeredor as an Assistant Vice President, Reserving; Consulting Actuary; Actuarial Analyst; or a related position.Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with: actuarial risk-based modeling; programming languages including VBA and SQL;database management and manipulation; data integrity; modeling including operating with actuarial calculation models, reviewing model process, and reviewing model outputs; and Excel VBA programming. Must have three (3) years of experience with: market exposure in group benefit or commercial lines; SAS; and predictive modeling. Must hold theFellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Fellow in Casualty ActuarialSociety (FCAS) designation.
