Position Title: Director, Business Development, Non-Qualified Products

The Director, Business Development, Non-Qualified Products will strategically support the Full Service Sales team as a subject matter expert on non-qualified (NQ) products throughout the full service sales cycle. He/she will position Prudential Retirement’s administrative and consulting capabilities as a differentiator to enhance closing ratios. This includes participation in finalist meetings, as requested. The Business Development Director will promote non-qualified education with advisors/consultants.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Strategically drive NQ and COLI (Corporate-Owned Life Insurance) adoption through standalone NQ opportunities in assigned advisor channels. Lead the sales process, from RFP to finalist meeting
  • Drive NQ adoption with Key Account clients, acting as the NQ Subject Matter Expert and consultant to existing Full Services Clients
  • Enhance revenue through COLI adoption on Full Service Sales
  • Strategically execute on intermediary relationships/business plans
  • Drive distribution strategy and related market discussions around NQ and Financial wellness.
  • Evolve broader distribution strategy by collaborating with key partners across Prudential
  • Effectively collaborate with Sales and Key Accounts to drive results

This position can be based anywhere in the U.S.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the retirement services and/or executive benefits industry; ideally in non-qualified benefits design, service or consulting
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-qualified executive benefits, IRC 409A, accounting, finance, and various investment vehicles
  • Proficient in presenting various informal funding options, including COLI
  • Demonstrates a consultative mindset with strong interpersonal, team and relationship management skills
  • Commitment to quality and customer service and sense of urgency in a sales environment
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • FINRA 6 & 63 and life insurance license within 120 days of hire
