Prudential Annuities Technology has an opening for a Director, Customer Facing Application Support.   This position is responsible for the ownership of Customer Facing applications and Web Content within the broader application portfolio.  In this role, the Director will also serve as an Engagement Manager to external vendors and Relationship Manager with the Customer Office.


The Director, Customer Facing Application Support has several primary areas of responsibility:

  • Application ownership of Annuities customer facing applications
  • Single point of contact with overall responsibility to maintain stability and reliability and improve business satisfaction by partnering with the Business and Technology organizations
  • Relationship Manager with US Customer Office, including managing budget for small enhancements/defects for external facing applications leveraging project planning, scheduling, budgeting and capacity
  • Influence and manage without authority across the Technology organization and multiple distinct customer groups
  • Provide leadership and direction through managers and individual contributors
  • Talent management, people leadership, staff coordination, development, and coaching for functional team members
  • Engagement Manager for external vendors interfacing with customer facing applications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technology leadership, with at least 3 years in the Annuity industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • Direct application management and development experience with Customer Facing application systems
  • Articulates diverse and innovative ideas and can influence others to drive outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience with taking intelligent risks and leveraging a ‘test and learn’ mentality
  • Committed to a spirit of authentic partnership – to colleagues both internal and external to the organization
  • Boldly empowers and inspires others to solve problems, to move forward with conviction and to flexibly change course when warranted
  • Solid experience managing vendor relationships
  • Experience using agile methodologies to deliver products and technologies
  • Awareness of situational leadership and when to use different leadership styles (e.g., coaching and mentoring vs. pacesetting and directive) to achieve the desired outcomes
