Job Code: 446618
Job Location: New Jersey-Newark
Description:

Job Overview

The PGIM Data Strategy team has an open position for the newly created role of Director, Enterprise Information Architecture. This team supports PGIM the global investment management business of Prudential Financial with more than $1 trillion in Assets Under Management (across public and private fixed income, mortgage loans, equities, and real estate asset classes).

The Enterprise Information Architecture function in PGIM’s newly formed Data Strategy Team will enable PGIM to execute innovative solutions that will help shape our future. As a team, we will provide information architecture and data expertise to help our business fully leverage the vast set of data, platforms, and technologies available and provide insightful, strategic guidance. In every interaction, we put the business first - our priority - and strive to exceed every stakeholder’s expectation.

Our goal is to deliver data insight that enables PGIM to differentiate and disrupt within the industry, and perform as a top global asset manager. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills by working with a wide set of data and technologies across a diverse set of asset management businesses.

What you’ll do:

Your mission will be to empower our businesses with the enterprise information and data knowledge they need to achieve value. This is an exciting opportunity for you to combine your business and technical expertise in a hands-on way:

  • Evangelize information management technologies and provide in-project consultation to "show the way" using new data exploration methods and technologies
  • Lead the development of the requirements, principles and models for the future-state PGIM EIA, as well as the documentation of the current-state information architecture.
  • Identify the gaps between the future-state and current-state information architecture and work with other enterprise architects to develop plans for moving toward the future state.
  • Ensure that the quality, security, stability and agility of the EIA meet evolving business needs by coordinating with other information architects, solution architects or data analysts.
  • Ensure EIA is properly scoped on enterprise information — those information assets that are deemed enterprise-significant as determined by business impact, decision impact, risk mitigation impact or organizational impact.
  • Establish the uniform and consistent identifiers, formats and protocols necessary for sharing and exchanging enterprise information (including structured and unstructured sources).
  • Champion efforts to improve business performance through EIA solutions and capabilities, such as master data management (MDM), metadata management, business intelligence (BI), content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure components.
  • Participate in efforts to redesign or modify the EIA as part of, or in coordination with, business improvement initiatives. In addition, identify opportunities to generate revenue or improve business performance through the use of internal or external information content and context.
  • Prepare conceptual and logical subject area models and implementation-level details that affect the continuum of disciplines involved in the architecture, design, implementation and management of enterprise information.
  • Help design the future state "Data Lake" strategy of PGIM.
  • Drive the implementation of Data Strategy projects and capabilities

Who we’re looking for:

  • You have 8 years of experience serving mostly as a Data Architect within professional services / finance (huge plus)
  • You have been a project owner leading multiple team members to successfully complete a large initiative that has made significant business impact
  • You have hands-on experience implementing MDM, BI or data warehouse solutions preferred
  • You love partnering with clients to create solutions that have meaningful impact to the end users and their organizations
  • You have advanced working knowledge of Data Architecture concepts
  • You have a desire and capacity to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies
  • You have a technical degree from 4 year university (e.g. computer science, engineering, math, etc) or equivalent experience
  • You have experience working as part of a cross-functional team
  • You can lead and influence through teamwork and collaboration
  • You have data modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level
  • You have an understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models
  • You have an understanding of the differences between relational and object modeling
  • You have an understanding of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources
  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity and abstract concepts

What you’ll get:

  • An opportunity to make a difference in how PGIM does business
  • Learn the ins and outs of PGIM’s businesses and platforms
  • Work with one of the most recognized asset management brands in the world
  • Be challenged with tough problems and ownership over your work - think big, innovate and take risks
  • You’ll be surrounded by amazing team members that are passionate about technology and working with our business partners
  • We’ll invest in your career and experience so you can be the best of the best
