Description **ROLE SUMMARY**

The Director Global Marketing, Rivipansel is responsible for partnering with the Global Commercial Lead for Rivipansel to lead the development and execution of specific areas of the market development and global launch plan for Rivipansel. This individual's primary responsibilities will be to lead the development and execution of a digital platform for Rivipansel and provide leadership and oversight to the Council for Change (CFC), a committee of external experts in Sickle Cell Disease with the goal of improving the care paradigm for SCD patients. This role will drive additional launch readiness and market development activities as needed. Rivipansel is a phase 3 novel agent in development for the acute treatment of vaso-occlusive crisis in patients with SCD. There are ~100,000 individuals living with SCD in the US.

This position reports to the Global Marketing Lead, Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).


+ Lead global digital marketing platform for Rivipansel. Core responsibilities include:

+ Development and execution of digital strategy and tactics, including website development

+ Collaboration with Business Technology to develop, pilot and implement specific innovative technology approaches to address the unique needs of Sickle Cell patients.

+ Responsible for all aspects of leadership of Council for Change (CFC), a committee of external experts in Sickle Cell Disease with the goal of improving the care paradigm for SCD patients. This role will provide oversight of CFC, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate execution of workstream initiatives, manage agency partner and develop plan to communicate progress to the SCD community.

+ Integrate all commercial deliverables to the launch readiness platform and insure regional alignment

+ C ollaborate with the Rare Disease Community Engagement lead for SCD to ensure patient input in development of materials and technology approaches

+ Engage regional leads and cross functional team to ensure global/regional alignment and define resourcing needs as the program progresses to launch

+ Drive additional launch readiness and market development activities as needed

+ Make appropriate strategic and investment recommendations to RDGM, RDLT and Pfizer governance as needed.


+ BS/BA required, advanced degree preferred

+ 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry commercial experience, preferably with 5+ years product marketing experience

+ Prior experience in global marketing and commercial strategy with knowledge of asset development, launch experience, digital strategy development and/or in line marketing preferred.

+ Knowledge of rare disease space preferred

+ Demonstrated strong strategic thinking and analytic skills in order to help set brand strategy and team priorities

+ Strong business acumen, demonstrated flexibility, and project management skills

+ Demonstrated success in influence and negotiation; able to build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships

+ Strong communication skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders, engage senior leadership

+ Ability to navigate internal organization/processes

+ Ability to engage and influence cross-functional team members, even without direct reporting relationships and positional authority

+ Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships to influence; networking skills; strong customer focus (e.g., ability to achieve win/win resolutions with key stakeholders)

+ Ability to frame projects to clearly define objectives, work plan, key stakeholders, and decision-making process

+ Strong project management skills with ability to rebalance priorities on a regular basis and to quickly assume responsibility in a multi-tasking environment

+ Enthusiasm, self-motivation, confidence, tenacity and high energy are essential


+ Intermittent international travel may be required
