Cox Automotive is seeking a Director, Human Resources who will participate in the development of people strategies and influences their assigned business areas by advising on and implementing progressive People & Organizational programs to grow the business and organization.

The Director, Human Resources is an integral part of the leadership team for the business assigned to them and may lead other HRBP professionals in the implementation of workforce planning, onboarding, training, leadership development and acceleration, performance management, succession, employee relations, culture, and ethics and compliance. This role will need to stretch across multiple business areas and effectively influence, provide guidance to and prioritize programs and solutions at all levels of leadership.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work with and influences leaders of assigned businesses on developing best-in-class talent and organizational plans to support enterprise-wide people strategies roll-outs and accelerate hiring, development, and retention of diverse team members with the skills and capabilities to meet current and future business challenges.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative business data to solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex, and design and quickly implement solutions, tools, techniques and processes that cut across multiple disciplines, even those beyond people and organizational solutions.
  • Uncover business specific HR initiatives, building a case for change to influence leadership, and managing initiatives from thought to successful execution.
  • Work across boundaries and actively collaborate with People Strategies Communities of Expertise to optimize the effectiveness of talent assessment, diversity, organizational design, performance management, succession planning, learning and leadership development, and compensation and rewards and recognition programs.
  • Serve as a change agent and champion for the rollout of company-wide talent-related strategies and initiatives by spearheading comprehensive people plans to influence lasting change over assigned businesses.
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: career planning, data analysis, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, and strategic development.
  • Leverage resources and partnerships to address potential employee relations’ issues with the appropriate sense of urgency, and implement fair and safe employment practices that mitigate risk, drive compliance, and create a healthy and engaging work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or a related field or work experience equivalent.
  • 8+ years progressive experience in HR including HRIS Systems, Employment Practices/Relations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Engagement, Performance Management and Basic Employment Laws.
  • 5+ year experience managing HR professionals.
  • Experience working with, coaching, and influencing senior leaders, executives, and employees.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role in a growing, evolving organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in business, HR or a related field.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR or GPHR.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in HR including demonstrated understanding and application of Talent Management, Change Management, and Organizational Design.
  • Consulting experience and/or diverse portfolio management in fast-paced environment.
