Prudential International Insurance (PII) continues to be one of Prudential's fastest growing and most profitable business groups.  PII has operations in eleven countries around the world (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Indonesia, Poland, and Italy) and is looking to fill a Director, Information Security position in the Operations and Systems department in Newark, New Jersey. The Director, Information Security will report to the PII Business Information Security Officer and provide oversight over information security activities and information security subject matter expertise in PII business operations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight on information security activities in selected PII businesses
  • Evaluate business unit compliance with Prudential policies, standards, and procedures.  Ensure adequate controls are in place to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, including activities required under the Prudential policies and standards or local government regulation
  • Develop, communicate, and enforce International Division standards, policies, and procedures. These identify specific processes necessary to maintain compliance with the controls defined in our Information Security Control Standard and Enterprise Standards
  • Review regulatory, external, and internal audit reports for information security issues and review action plans to ensure all issues are appropriately addressed
  • Coordinate review of technical controls with Corporate IT subject matter experts (inclusive of the Information Security Office)
  • Provide support for new business start-ups, including the review of existing control environments and the implementation of new control environments
  • Lead monthly calls with the businesses to review status of information security activities and discuss new issues.  Author and distribute meeting notes / action items and follow-up as necessary
  • Work with businesses to review information security exception requests for appropriateness and completeness
  • Participate in architecture reviews with the International Division Architect for major initiatives in international companies
  • Oversee the activities of service providers performing security operations and administration services for the PII businesses
  • Serve as an escalation point from the Information Security Office for information security issues (actual or potential) that may affect the PII businesses
  • Coordinate response activities as required across the PII businesses for security incidents, vulnerability management, or other critical issues

  • At least 5 years of experience in Information Security
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work across organization levels and cultures
  • International experience preferred. Ability to travel 25% of the time required
  • 1 or more current & maintained information security related certifications is preferred (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, etc.)
