Position Description

This position is accountable for owning the relationship between the Lines of Business and Salesforce CoE.  This individual will provide leadership, guidance and accountability for business capabilities & strategies associated with the use and implementation of the Salesforce solutions.  This individual will work to identify opportunities, facilitate strategy development, and capture the needs of the clients of salesforce.   Additionally, this individual is accountable for the being the face of the CoE to the solution and business team..  Clearly articulating and representing the enterprise vision  and optimizing the use of salesforce in planning and ongoing conversations and ensuring the a clear understanding of enterprise and CoE standards.   Working with teams to clearly understand the current and future use requirements for Salesforce across the organization.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the relationship with our internal customers – Know their business and how SF can best support them
  • Develop a deep relationship as part of their business at all levels
  • Be the front door for their needs, concerns, questions, and strategy
  • Clearly articulate and represent the Salesforce CoE capabilities and value to the client organizations
  • Seek out and clearly capture/define opportunities for the CoE to support business needs
  • Liaison with other teams to ensure client needs are being met.
  • Provide CoE leadership to ensure the right representation during all communications
  • Ensure clear lines of communications between clients and CoE team
  • Create a sense of community across UHG
  • Be seen as and provide thought leadership across the enterprise relative to the Salesforce Platform
  • Evaluates and develops  emerging concepts and champion new and innovative uses for the Salesforce platform
  • Perform Ad hoc projects (including Continuous Improvement projects) as required.

  • Business Acumen - Understanding of Marketing, Enrollment (Sales), and Customer Service processes and best practices in relation to how those map to CRM/Marketing Automation technology capabilities (configuration, customization, and out of box)

  • Technically oriented - Quick learner with technical know-how to understand and support our complex well-integrated technology environment (i.e. CTI/Contact Center, ERP, LMS, etc) requires a certain level of technical mindset
  • Innovative/Creative Problem Solver - Interest in innovating on current leading industry platforms and their related ecosystem is a must to be successful in this role. You must find solutions to complex problems in partnership with other IT and business colleagues
  • Collaborative - works with peers and team from across many functions within the company
  • Multi-tasking - Working with multiple business units and business/IT executives across multiple time zones requires ongoing prioritization, level-setting with business
  • High EQ - Ability to work across all levels of leadership in complex and highly stressful situations.  Appreciative of divers e points of view with a focus on success as a team
  • Financial Acumen - Familiarity with solution and agile estimating, ability to manage deliverables to achieve financial goals and optimize value

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Business Operations
  • 5+ years of experience and intimate knowledge of Salesforce technologies and platforms (Sales cloud, Service Console, Communities, Partner Portal, Knowledge Management)
  • 5+ years of experience with all phases of work required to implement salesforce solutions
  • 4+ years of experience and an understanding in Agile delivery methods
  • 4+ years of experience in directing and managing within a dynamic and challenging environment, working inclusively through people to achieve shared objectives
  • 3+ years of experience in a client facing role, collaborating across the businesses in a consultative capacity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct and hands on experience in the implementation of Salesforce Solutions within a HealthCare environment (Patient Relationship Management, Population Health, Member/Patient contact center solutions, etc)
  • Salesforce Certified: i.e. Salesforce Admin Certification, Salesforce Developer Certification, Salesforce Architect Certified
  • Experience across Health Services and Healthcare technology solutions
  • MBA
