Job Description

Responsible for the oversight and direction of business activity, including business development, within the Joint and Spine Center.  Demonstrates 24-hour responsibility for personnel, staffing and operations.  Responsibilities include the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating of economic growth, fiscal responsibility and the quality of the business related scope whether clinical or non clinical. The Leader collaborates with the CNO, Senior Leadership Team, physicians and staff in developing, setting, implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice.  Participates on assigned community, hospital and medical committees. Participates/leads hospital and community outreach activities related to orthopedics. Leads the Marshall Steele Program and other Joint and Spine Center accreditation(s). Promotes collaborative relationships among the medical staff, volunteers, the community and other departments within the system. Demonstrates practices that promote the Mission and Vision of UHS and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.  Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times and other duties as assigned.  

 

The Nurse Director directs, supervises and evaluates the performance of the nursing staff, contributes to the development of a fully qualified and continuously improving staff, and  he/she supports work redesign and quality improvement within the department.  The Nurse Director integrates evidence based practice utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

  • Schedules staff in the most cost effective manner utilizing the staff scheduling system. Proactively plans for future staffing needs. Ensures staff schedules are complete and published within the appropriate time frame.
  • Ensures all staffing changes are made using staff scheduling system.
  • Monitors patient assignments and ensures the unit is following a systematic method for predicting the numbers and types of required resources and making equitable and safe patient assignments based on patient acuity.

Reviews Productivity in Visionware on a daily basis. Takes corrective action to adhere to productivity standards.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

BSN required (or obtained within 3 years); MSN preferred

Current Florida State RN Licensure

BCLS

Certification in specialty preferred

 

Knowledge of human resource management, program development, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards preferred.

Previous management experience required

At least 3 years experience in area of practice
