Director/Lead-Digital, Marketing Centers of Excellence (MCoE)

The MCoE Digital team sits in US Marketing's Internal Medicine BU within the Pfizer Innovative Health (PIH) BU, and primarily focuses on consumer facing digital opportunities. The remit of the MCoE Digital team is to enhance the digital capabilities of our marketers so that we can better educate patients on our products and engage with our patients using the digital tools, technologies, and platforms that our customers are consistently leveraging to make healthcare decisions.

The MCoE Digital team focuses on the following five tenets:

+ Experimentation: Driving innovation through thoughtful brand partnership to drive results

+ Incubation: Driving digital disruption and innovation via pilot development with brand partnerships

+ Acceleration: Accelerating organizational digital skills as brand partners and advisors to prioritize and develop new capabilities

+ Education: Developing best-in-class digital capabilities in marketers

+ Foundation: Advancing digital policies in conjunction with Legal, Regulatory and Medical

Organizational Relationships

+ Internal: PIH brand marketers, Media Team, Brand/BU/Corporate Review Committees, Business Analytics, Business Technology and others, as needed

+ Bring key components of strategic initiatives through medical, legal and regulatory Review Committees (RC) at the brand and above brand levels, to ensure efforts are compliant and effective

+ Partner with Business Technology (BT) to identify and enable portfolio technology solutions to support the rapid scaling of digital activities within PIH and beyond

+ Collaborate with the Business Analytics (BA) team to develop a plan to test key hypotheses and determine key success metrics for each project, and adapt nimbly

+ External: agencies, platform providers (not key relationship owner)

+ Lead creative agencies/contractors and other partners in the development of customer-facing programs

+ Develop and manage third party vendor partnerships as necessary for initiative success


Responsibilities of MCoE Digital Director/Lead:

+ Serve as an innovator, thought leader, digital evangelist and subject matter expert to:

+ Drive organizational leap of capabilities, culture, and mindset to "digital first"

+ Identify opportunities for digital capabilities advancements based on an understanding of external trends and how they can meet brand/patient needs. Develop the business cases for these capabilities as well as other digital capabilities, clearly outlining hypotheses to test, and organizational gains to be realized

+ Develop portfolio-level digital capabilities that deliver against brand strategy with increased ROIs and KPIs

+ Partner with and inspire our brand marketers to understand new digital tools/trends and how they can be leveraged to drive brand business

+ Develop, inform and share the digital vision for the team with the Marketing organization and other key stakeholders

+ Lead strategic implementation of large initiatives and other smaller initiatives, ensuring that digital solutions meet the needs of the pilot brands and their patients and prescribers, while remaining scalable across the organization

+ Enable scaling of digital portfolio-level enhancements and new digital capabilities with our brand partners

+ Capture, collate and share digital learnings and best practices from and with our brand partners

+ Lead a team of three direct reports in the vision, development and execution of digital initiatives and projects

+ Occasionally, participate on organizational/xBU digital efforts



+ 12+ years of relevant experience

+ Deep digital marketing functional expertise, having working knowledge of:

+ Social campaign development/management, text campaigns, mobile/apps, content and video development, measurement and reporting, website development and optimization/tagging, email, and overarching development and optimization of digital marketing ecosystems

+ Expertise in a broad range of new and emerging digital technologies, channels, and platforms and their application to marketing

+ Ability to be BOTH strategic and tactical - to develop strategy in response to market trends and business needs, and execute against that strategy (e.g., develop key components of strategic plan and execute against operational imperatives)

+ Ability to lead change, be change agile and be comfortable with ambiguity/white space

+ Ability to independently lead, operate and manage multiple large complex projects

+ Proven track record of working cross-functionally, leading without authority, and driving cross-functional groups to alignment and action

+ Experience successfully working on high-profile, complex organizational challenges

+ Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative

+ Experience working with and presenting to senior leadership

+ Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills

+ Strong analytic skills (experimentation methods, logical analysis, problem solving, quantification of business ideas, research skills)

+ Understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance requirements for bio-pharma or other highly regulated industries preferred, but not required

+ Recent experience in non-pharma digital marketing desired

+ 5+ years of marketing or related (agency) experience in any industry

+ 3+ years of consulting experience preferred

+ Bachelor Degree required.

+ Supervisory experience of direct reports
