Position Description:
The Director of Learning Delivery is responsible for all programs and people that support Home Depot University. This position oversees the Senior Managers of Learning Delivery and the Managers of Learning Execution. In addition, the Director of Learning Delivery ensures quality and execution of select training for the store and non-store organizations.


  • 30% - Program Oversight: Manage the execution of all aspects of Home Depot University programs. Manage the delivery of select instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training for various audiences. Develop and execute strategic plans to continuously improve training. Ensure evaluations on instructors' performance are completed, occasionally observing facilitators. Explore technology solutions to enhance the learner experience. Review available reporting to monitor course content effectiveness and associate feedback. Leverage data to measure the competence and confidence increase for associates completing Home Depot University training
  • 30% - Build and foster strong relationships: Develop strong working relationships with Directors of Learning Strategy, Director of Design and Development, and the Director of Learning Technology and Administration to ensure that the Company initiatives are delivered with high quality and in a timely manner for the associates. Partner with L&D Strategy teams during key initiatives to ensure the appropriate Delivery aspect is considered and incorporated into the solution. Coordinate efforts and communicate with the Learning Technology and Administration team frequently to ensure support for Home Depot University facilitators is accurate and the needs of the attendees are being met. Partner with business owners to align learning objectives and content with business goals for the Company. Communicate with executives and leaders on initiatives and programs
  • 20% - Special Projects: Partner with associates in L&D and/or other business units on special projects or events. Obtain details on resource request and scope of project. Lead efforts with managers to determine the service level that could be supported. Manage requests and solicit feedback in various solutions (i.e. large scale events, broadcasts, specialized training, etc.)
  • 10% - Budget and Vendor Management: Establish, build, and enhance relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Hold vendor partners accountable to service level agreements. Monthly, review spend to budget variance and connect with finance lead and VP to identify discrepancies. Develop and execute standard operating procedures for emergencies, associate issues, problems, and recognition
  • 10% - People and Team Development: Develop direct and indirect reports through feedback, coaching, and recognition. Schedule formal training classes, determine stretch assignments for team development, and coordinate exposure activities to build world-class facilitators. Determine process and protocol for measuring efficiency and effectiveness of the Delivery team. Hold team accountable to high standards of excellence

  • Position Reports to Vice President of Learning
  • Direct and indirect reports typically include up to 6 managers and 30 facilitators.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 10% of the time.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

8 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
