Our Distribution Sales Training team is seeking a high caliber Director, with strong influencing and exceptional leadership skills to drive and innovate Prudential’s Group Insurance (GI) business sales training and transformational learning strategy.

As a leader in the Distribution Sales Training Organization, you will develop, coach, and manage a team of learning and development professionals and model the Prudential leadership competencies.  Your team will play a key role in delivering on our strategic mission to equip sales and account management talent with deep business acumen, professional skills, multi-media tools, and mobile learning solutions to achieve business objectives and deliver valued solutions to our customers and producers.

 

Who are we?

The Distribution Learning and Development team has recently embarked on a creating the “next generation of learning” with the release of a new LMS system with innovative new multimedia solutions, video curriculum capabilities, and video coaching.

We’re expanding our core curriculum, creating a new multi-year advanced professional development program to elevate talent throughout the sales organization, and championing new and creative solutions via our full video production studio and editing media center – and that’s just the beginning!

 

What part will you play?

You are responsible for shaping Prudential’s Group Insurance (GI) business sales training strategy and for optimizing the associates’ learning experiences using technology, software, mobile and digital capabilities.  The Director is accountable for learning data analytics that deliver insights for learning strategy and to drive innovation and transformation throughout the learning ecosystem.

The Director manages and leads a small team (eLearning, LMS Administration, L&D SharePoint, Multimedia Production) accountable for three key learning function operational capabilities for the Distribution Sales and Account Management organization:

 

Learning Operations

  • Learning Management System (LMS) Admin & Project Management
  • Curriculum Design & Management
  • System Integration/Data Source Feeds
  • Learning and Development (L&D) Team Capacity Modeling & Forecasting
  • Vendor Contracts & Licensing Agreements

Learning Analytics

  • Co-own Learning and Development (L&D) Governance Meetings; L&D Dashboards and Reporting
  • Developing and improving learning success measures using analytics, benchmarks, and dashboards
  • Enhanced assessment and acumen validation; Identify solutions to enable curation capabilities
  • L&D LMS Knowledge Management and Prudential SharePoint environments and search integration.

Learning Innovation

  • Learning Management System (LMS) Continuous Improvement
  • Integration of Innovative Software & Mobile Solutions (assessment, gamification, & user adoption)
  • Managing a new L&D Full Service Video Production Studio including multimedia and digital solutions

 

The ideal candidate is a seasoned learning organization operational leader with proficiency in optimizing a Learning Management System and expanding Knowledge Management capabilities that meet the needs of generationally diverse learners. The candidate has a proven track record of 5-8 years of success in delivering learning operational outcomes within a business-to-business sales model; preferably with experience in a fast-paced sales and high customer engagement environment.

 

The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to leverage an innovative mindset; balanced with intelligent risk taking that continuously delivers innovative learning capabilities (video, digital, mobile, gamification) and learning analytics solutions (assessment, curation) that improve learning acquisition and retention, build acumen, and measurably facilitate user adoption.

 

In this Director role, you will lead, coach, develop, and manage a small team of learning and development professionals to continually deepen and expand their knowledge, skills, and capabilities, partner to identify and align appropriate opportunities for professional development, and support their career aspirations. The Director must employ strong influencing skills and maintain highly credible and collaborative working relationships with key internal stakeholders not only across the Group Insurance organization but also with peers across the Prudential businesses and with external vendors.

 

The Director reports to the VP of Distribution Excellence, Learning and Development within the Distribution Strategic Partnerships and Distribution Excellence function within Prudential’s Group Insurance business.

 

Location / Travel:

  • Position based in the Roseland, NJ headquarters office.  Annual business travel 10-20% primarily to the Hartford, CT office for leadership and team related activities and occasionally to support regional training deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learning operations strategy, multi-year plan development and execution
  • Development, continuous improvement, and reporting of learning and business impact analytics
  • Identify and deliver solutions that enable innovative video, digital, gamification, and mobile capabilities
  • Co-lead and key contributor to the Learning and Development governance process; responsible for learning analytics, capacity forecasting, and L&D dashboard
  • Ensure that learning operational capabilities achieve plan objectives, facilitate curriculum build goals, and provide learning achievements (Badging, Certifications, Knowledge proficiencies through assessment) that validate associate learning development and acumen elevation targets
  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop learning associates to improve performance, deepen business and industry knowledge and acumen, and elevate the learning function’s talent capabilities to impact successful business outcomes
  • Utilize project management skills to define and meet project milestones, communicate issues and risks in a timely manner, and escalate to senior management as necessary
  • Sustain a high level of acumen across the organization’s core product portfolio, distribution and sales processes, and value proposition; stay informed on industry trends and on new and emerging practices and technology to drive innovative learning solutions and maintain an effective learning curriculum

  • Seasoned leadership practices; fosters a climate that values and rewards inclusion, team work, collaboration, and performance excellence. Ability to inspire teams and coach individuals to higher levels of performance and contribution; leads by modeling competencies and valued behaviors
  • Practitioner knowledge across instructional design and software, learning solution mediums, curriculum design and management, learning management systems, and enabling video, mobile and digital learning solutions,
  • 8 years of experience in a corporate learning environment; experience in sales training environment, a plus
  • Proven success in establishing key relationships and exhibiting advanced influencing skills with all levels of management and leadership within the organization,
  • Ability to foster collaboration, engagement, and achieve alignment across a diverse range of stakeholders, business leaders, functional partners, and subject matter experts
  • Experience in working with CRM platforms and systems (e.g. Salesforce.com) to capture performance and business impact data to provide learning measures and analytics that validate acumen to performance improvement success.
  • Ability to lead and manage small to large scale learning initiatives; proficiency in using advanced-level Microsoft Excel or software / platform solutions, (i.e., Workfront) for project management tracking and reporting; ability to create project dashboards, executive reports and summaries.
  • Flexible work style, ability to handle a fast-paced environment with unexpected changes
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication, presentation, and listening (consultative) skills.
  • Accountable for ongoing personal development plan and plan execution. Driven to develop a deep knowledge of the group insurance business and industry, and model organization’s culture and norms
  • Proficient in using Office 365, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word; basic knowledge of Visio, a plus
  • Practitioner experience with virtual delivery platforms (e.g., WebEx, Saba Centra); Skype for business, a plus
  • Experience with Adobe CC, Articulate 360, Captivate, and video editing software, a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or advanced certifications in systems administration, platform management, or related fields, preferred.
