Director Next Generation Strategic Partnership - Strategic Ecosystem Group

 

What You’ll Do

You will be a senior leader responsible for the overall engagement and development of the next generation strategic partnerships (NSGP) at Cisco. You will lead the direct and the virtual multi-functional team responsible for developing and incubating one or more NGSP. You will be the main interface with the partner alliance team. This domain/partner leader will develop partnerships through key phases: selection, value proposition, business case, co-innovation, business plan, partnership structure and execution plan. You will implement the process for NGSP and the life-cycle governance of the partnership. You will also responsible for new strategic business development opportunities. You will be the point leader for one of the prioritized ecosystem domains and represent the SEG at the CSO level.

 

You will lead the ecosystem intelligence and ensure there is ecosystem alignment across all partnerships in the domain. You will work closely with the SEG Ops leader and the PMO assigned to the partnership to rigorously apply the SEG framework, process and operating model. You will leverage the defined process and governance model, ensuring real-time visibility of the partnership and full execution. You will produce and maintain up-to-date the relevant dashboards for NGSP. You’ll drive the overall interaction and process with the partner alliance team as well as the internal approval process (pre-commit, commit, post-commit). You will ensure a proper transition to the business, leveraging the pre-defined operating model for NGSP. This role is focused on the IoT domain.

 

Who You’ll Work With

The Strategic Ecosystem Group (SEG) works with industry market leaders with to develop strategic relationships. The SEG drives the inception, formulation and incubation of the most critical, transformative partnerships for Cisco. They focus on ensuring strategic partnering is a key element of Cisco's strategy and execution as a part of the 'build, buy, partner, invest and innovate' to drive the company's success.

 

The team is composed of ecosystem domain/Partner leaders, business development managers, program management office, and the supporting functions (legal, finance, HR,...). Interface to corresponding counterpart at the partner organization and with other CSO groups, BUs/other functions.


You will directly manage one or more business development managers as well as lead/coordinate the other team members such as Program Management office managers.

The Director of NSGP reports directly to the leader of the Strategic Ecosystem Group.

Who You Are

You are able to operate at a senior level, you have strong program management and organization skills. You communicate well with senior executives, and multiple functions across global theaters. You have direct experience managing strategic alliances, commercial negotiation, and ecosystem management. You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the technology industry with relevant experience in operations.

You’re comfortable working in a virtual team format and dealing with ambiguity and complexity. You are a structured thinker with analytical skills. You have experience managing executive governance process. You have a clear track record of leadership in accomplishing cross-functional initiatives. You are energetic, collaborative and autonomous.

 

-Experience and working knowledge within a specific domain (IoT, Security etc.) from an ecosystem point of view

-Experience leading multi-functional virtual teams

-Experience in sales and complex strategic partnerships – building and managing those relationships

-Ability to lead the assigned PMO

-MBA preferred.
