Job Description

Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

As treatment options and patient care innovations have continued to become available we strive to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients. At Parkwood, our caring staff focuses on providing compassionate care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities.

We offer a full continuum of care that provides treatment options to meet the individual needs of adults, adolescents and children. Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

Director of Business Development

We are currently seeking a full-time Director of Business Development responsible for achieving optimal utilization of Parkwood’s continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods.  The Director of Business Development functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health System.

Job Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description.  The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.  Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in marketing of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient, residential, IOP and partial hospital setting.

Education:  Bachelors Degree in a behavioral health field preferred.

Experience:   Sales experience or clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population required.  Prefer experience in developing new territories in target markets with customer base.  Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse terminology. 

Licensure/Certification:  N/A

Knowledge:  Prefer knowledge of business development techniques

Supervision Received:  Chief Executive Officer

Supervision Exercised:   Marketing Representatives

In absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within a reasonable time frame via the organization’s orientation and training program.
