::

Position Overview

Ensures & oversees the day to day operations of the clinical staff.  Responsible for providing direct supervision to employees assigned to the clinical department and provides indirect guidance to direct care staff regarding clinical programming and treatment expectations. Works directly with the Nursing Director to ensure effective & safe therapeutic practices are being provided at all times.  Ensures facility compliance with all regulatory and accreditation guidelines and expectations. Directly supervises therapists. Collaborates with the Medical Records Department regarding the regulatory oversight of Medical Records. Ensures compliance and completion of all documentation requirements for the Facility are maintained and current

  • Advanced clinical knowledge of best practices in the treatment of children/adolescents with severe emotional disturbances or psychiatric illnesses & their families;

  • Strategic planning skills; record of adherence to deadlines; customer service skills; teaching or training skills helpful;

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a Human services field Licensure as a mental health professional (LMSW, LISW, LPC or LMFT), in South Carolina is required.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital setting.

  • Five (5) years prior clinical services experience with a psychiatric mental health population preferred.

  • Must have a valid SC driver’s license in good standing.

  • Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive

  • Must have knowledge of assessment process, counseling, and psychopathology.

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the network of state agencies, community resources, and aftercare. Demonstrates strong communication skills, written and verbal. Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, referral sources and general public.. Demonstrates ability to establish credibility and be decisive.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions.

  • Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, CPI and CPR.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly.

  • Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @Hz. And 2000 Hz with or without correction.

  • Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe patients on the unit and in therapeutic activities.
