Director of Facilities

Turning Point is currently seeking a Director of Facilities. The Director of Facilities plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, Security, Environmental Services, and Grounds departments. They complete all duties and functions of the Hospital Safety Officer. The Director is responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable Federal and District regulations and documentation to include, but not limited to the Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). The director will manage staff and contractors adequately to ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings. They will plan, predict, maintain and repair building and equipment and implement and utilize various tracking tools in order to maintain efficientand effective departmentoperations. The Director develops and manages operating and capital budgets. This position oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance ofthe facility Emergency Operations Plan.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to lead a diverse workforce with varying abilities and skills.
  • Membership in state or national healthcare engineering association preferred; Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred. 
  • Broad knowledge of the Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and other regulatory agencies required.
