Job Requirements

The Director of Medical Records is responsible for carrying out the policies established by the governing body which affect the Medical Records Department. Uses initiative and independent judgment in the supervision of personnel. Ascertains that all equipment is in proper functioning order at all times. Works as coordinator for the Case Coordinators. Serves as the organization’s Privacy Officer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Record Technicians or Registered Record Administrator required. Prefer individual with experience in a psychiatric/substance abuse facility.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and understand procedure manuals, business reports.
