Position Description

Developing and implementing consistent policies, practices and procedures to lead process improvement efficiencies and organizational improvement in Enterprise Solutions. The position works with Enterprise Solutions leadership to define needs / priorities and interfaces with other internal and external organizations to develop and sustain an operational support structure that aligns with the organizational strategy and goals. Internal business partners will include Sales, Finance, Training, Human Capital, Quality, etc.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates business alignment through implementation of consistent policies, practices, and procedures
  • Lead major process improvement initiatives through all life - cycle phases and establish direction and standards, while maintaining a high level of user and staff trust and confidence
  • Work with Health Plan leadership to develop and implement service improvement initiatives
  • Serve as quality champion ensuring that appropriate processes and programs are in place to exceed and maintain established standards
  • Design / develop and implement strategies and programs to ensure high quality service to customers by virtue of the organization's process and performance
  • Build a culture for meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Work closely with business and leadership to develop strategy and create business and operational process support to help realize that strategy
  • Anticipate future directions as it applies to business needs and projects while proactively recommending courses of action to dramatically improve cost effectiveness and competitiveness
  • Evaluates, mentors, motivates, addresses performance issues, and continuously upgrades the organization through effective training and hiring


Required Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree required in healthcare field, information systems, business or related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Open to travel based on business needs

  • Successful work experience in Puerto Rico

  • 10+ years broad experience in managerial and administrative positions

  • Healthcare operations experience and ability to knowledge to issues and problems

  • Ability to build, develop and mentor an analytical, high performing team through effective leadership

  • Strong working knowledge of production and service operational model

  • Creative idea generator with confidence and persuasiveness needed to sell ideas both internally and to customers

  • Displays a high level of initiative, demonstrates a willingness to experiment, invites; explores the potential in new ideas while understanding the risk to organization

  • Ability to gain acceptance for ideas, plans, actions and then implement flawlessly

  • Ability to influence change across organizational boundaries and excel in a heavily matrixed and ever - changing environment

  • Incorporates UHG and UHC vision, mission, values and philosophies in all decision making

  • Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult customer problems with effective solutions, reaches sound business judgment and executes plan, making mid - course corrections as needed

  • Effective data analysis and interpretation skills

  • Ability to focus on key metrics and frame their overall impact on business objectives

  • Develops plans that anticipate short and long term business demands

  • Proven, successful project and program management experience and skills including timely delivery of tangibles

  • Creates, builds and maintains relationships that enhance performance of the business unit, obtains commitment from individuals and groups to insure organization's success. Establishes trust and credibility at all levels of the organization

  • Effectively expresses ideas and information in writing and orally to individuals and groups, projecting a credible image.

  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and successful implementation of large inter & intra - segment technology projects within the healthcare industry

  • Customer / consumer (constituent) driven focus

  • Flexibility to positively adapt to changes / challenges in organizational strategy, priorities, project direction and overcome resistance to change

  • Organization and personal influence skills: create, build and enhance organizational ability to produce timely outcomes

  • Advanced degree
