Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Outpatient Services. We are a private, freestanding, 118- bed, acute psychiatric hospital; specializing in mental health and chemical dependency. We provide a wide range of services and programs that offer evidence-based treatment proven to have positive outcomes for our patients. Our inpatient and day hospital, or outpatient services offer supportive and compassionate care for adults through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients.


The Outpatient Director is responsible for managing and directing the activities of outpatient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals, and objectives.   This position contributes to the hospital’s philosophy, values, objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts. This position also work closely with business development, admissions, marketing, and the business office to develop programming, evaluate effectiveness of treatment provided, and assess outcome measures and quality improvement.  The Outpatient Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations in outpatient including but not limited to: admissions, discharges, billing, assessment of patient care, conducting chart audits, staff training, leading treatment team meetings, collecting and reporting on performance improvement data, curriculum development, and monitoring the overall effectiveness of outpatient services. This position also requires knowledge of insurance requirements, billing practices and ability to communicate with staff and patients regarding financial issues. This position works closely with the Outpatient Medical Director and providers and manages the Outpatient Medication Management Clinic.

Job Requirements


Position Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s Degree specializing in nursing, social work or a clinical related mental health area, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
  • Licensure: Current LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Ph.D. license issued by the State of Utah preferred.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR certification and MANDT training within 90 days of employment. Thorough knowledge of JCAHO/HCFA, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements.
