Position Summary:

Position Purpose: The Director of Plant Operations directs, administers, coordinates, and supervises the Plant Operations Department to maintain a safe and efficient facility. Serves as the Safety Officer for the facility and functions as the Chairman of the Safety Committee.

Position Supervises: Program and Staff: Maintenance, Environmental Services and other staff as assigned.


Total education, training and experience: High School diploma or GED. Training in mechanics, electricity, or related industrial fields are preferred. A minimum of three years in plant maintenance management, which must have included work in a hospital or healthcare environment or an industrial setting.

1. Knowledge of maintenance planning, work production, and productivity measurement with the ability to plan, schedule, implement, and follow up on departmental activities.
2. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory codes along with state regulations and The Joint Commission standards.
3. Ability to supervise and manage food service departments in compliance with all laws, standards and accrediting bodies.
4. Ability to develop, implements, and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules.
5. Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
6. Supervisory experience is required with the ability to supervise, motivate, schedule, and evaluate departmental employees.
7. Visual acuity is needed to insure work is being done correctly, and to inspect the environment for safety and efficiency.
8. Skill set to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
9. Work is of heavy demand, requiring walking, and standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting of objects in excess of 50 pounds.
10. Ability to work in behavioral health environment and observe the standards of care needed for patients.
