This position is responsible primarily for providing direct business development of UHC’s Global Insurance range of expatriate and travel health plans. They will have responsibility for new business production within the Northeast Region and will develop and cultivate relationships with global benefits brokers and consultants, existing UHC clients and also prospect directly in the marketplace for sales opportunities. The individual will be networking at senior levels of UHC and the broker / consultant community. They will be responsible for meeting annual sales targets. The Director of Sales will report to the Sales Vice President of Global Insurance.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue goals in the large group expatriate health plan sector
  • Effectively manage and maximize face-to-face client sales time to drive new business acquisition
  • Build relationships with global practice leaders at the top global broker / consultant firms in the Northeast region
  • Develop market and industry sales and marketing strategies and sales plans
  • Source, manage and report a pipeline of sales opportunities in the CRM system (Salesforce.com) to provide accurate forecasting
  • Report as requested on business development activity and new opportunities
  • Build collaborative relationships with UnitedHealthcare National Accounts and Key Accounts Sales Vice Presidents and Strategic Client Executives
  • Develop client and broker / consultant specific presentations and proposal materials
  • Assume a leadership role with respect to competitive intelligence research and documentation, product development, staff development and knowledge management and identify services / products of value to existing and potential key client accounts
