What You'll Do

In the Senior Director's role you will develop, drive, and align Cisco architectural sales strategy, technology vision and business across the six Americas' theaters specific to the architectural marketplace. You will be responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing sales strategy across the entire Data Center portfolio inclusive of the acceleration technologies as well as the incubation solutions and partner concern technologies as defined by each architecture. You will drive sales strategy and execution for the direct incubation and customer concern resources, while monitoring and measuring the indirect (or matrixed) acceleration and mainstream resources. You will Identify, develop and implement key initiatives that align with operation strategy. Lead and coach teams through transformation with account planning/opportunity identification, business relevant customer value selling, and business disciplines.

Who You Are

You know how to lead planning to achieve architectural sales goals by prioritizing and coordinating the go-to-market for architectural sales initiatives. You can develop and communicate business/technology alignment plans to partners, customers, technology groups, and executive sales partners. You help develop and execute the architectural sales strategy within each and across all Americas theaters. You will have a strong focus on developing and execution strategy of mainstreaming technologies in to architectural selling motions over the next 1-3 years.

  • Assess and communicate risks associated with architectural specific acquisitions.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for architectural related acquisitions to improve the overall sales strategy.
  • Define requirements sales initiatives and drive alignment between sales, business unit, and key executives.
  • Define and communicates strategy, policies, and standards for architectural sales organization for compensation, organizational, and headcount investments across the organization.
  • Drive overall COI metrics to drive transparent visibility to all performance metrics including headcount investments, pipeline as leading indicator, attach rates, etc. across all theaters.
  • Analyze and improve upon standard methodologies across the theater architectural sales teams to maintain a technological and daring edge within the market.
  • Act as primary liaison by communications with Cisco's top executives, technology groups, marketing, partners, and customers.
  • Develop, track, and control the associated architectural annual operating and capital budgets for enablement, investments, and operations.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Ability to act as delegate of the VP, Sales - Americas Architectures and be comfortable in a visible leadership position with strong tactical skills
  • Ability to set and lead priorities judiciously
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees.
  • Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to represent Cisco in a large internal and customer focused conference/industry settings
  • 10+ years experience leading and/or directing sales organizations and sales strategy plus 15 years experience working in the technology industry.
  • Experience in strategic sales planning, execution, and policy development.
  • Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Ability to apply technology solutions to business problems and drive high performing sales strategies
  • Previous Senior Director level experience in a complex, highly matrixed environment
