The Portfolio and Decision Analysis group (PDA), part of the Business Analytics (BA) organization, is uniquely positioned within Pfizer as internal consultants to facilitate tough investment and trade-off decisions for the clinical portfolio and to serve as an "early warning system" for potential issues that could impact decision-making.

This role is responsible for the management and maintenance of enterprise systems that support quality project schedules associated with drug development. The systems span and support over 700 stakeholders, thousands of Discovery, Development and Commercial medicines plans and resource management capabilities across all Pfizer Business Units. The candidate is a recognized subject matter expert in project management technology and associated business processes and knowledgeable with drug development and resource management concepts. This is a leadership role in the development of enterprise initiatives; examples include the RAPID (Resource and Planning Insights for Development) program or other corporate project planning/portfolio processes and tools (e.g. Planisware, MS Project). The candidate brings expert skills to contribute to the achievement of team, department, and/or Pfizer-wide goals.

The candidate is expected to work with multiple stakeholders across the business in a matrix environment and drives progress and decisions. The stakeholders reside in PDA, Discovery, PIH, PEH, R&D, Commercial and Finance. The candidate is called upon to lead adoption of best practice recommendations and/or to drive development of new technologies and continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, reports, and systems. Leads/co-leads complex sub-team initiatives to develop innovative or original ideas to address atypical complex project delivery issues.

The role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of R&D, commercial, and strategic topics that are critical to our business. In addition, we are constantly driving thought leadership with our business partners, and continuously seeking new and creative ways to communicate highly complex and dynamic information.


**Lead and implement RAPID solutions for Planning and Resource Management.**

+ Engage with business leads, system leads and subject matter experts across the RAPID community to design, develop, deliver and maintain enterprise planning and resource management systems and processes to support the research, development and commercialization of new medicines.

**Lead and perform RAPID Business Specialist responsibilities**

+ Provide hands on administration for Planisware, Microsoft Project Online and/or SPRINT to support the enterprise user communities.

+ Ensures accurate system development and day to day maintenance.

+ Lead prioritization of system change requests in collaboration with key representatives across business lines.

+ Generate advanced analytics leveraging project and portfolio data and utilizing available reporting and visualization tools

+ Coordinate with Business Technology to manage system maintenance, outages and new releases.

+ Lead integration of project and portfolio data and systems following corporate acquisitions

+ Lead and work with outside vendors/consultants to maximize the effectiveness of in house portfolio tools.

**Professional experience and educational requirements**

+ Advanced degree in business, technical or scientific discipline

+ At least 8 years of experience as a business analyst, consultant, project manager, or decision analyst

+ At least 10 years of applicable pharmaceutical industry experience and advanced knowledge of the drug development process.

+ Experience in negotiation, facilitation, and managing cross-functional team dynamics.

+ Experience managing a software system including all stages of the system lifecycle.

+ Experience with project management, portfolio management, planning, and/or resource management practices.

+ Skilled with data processing and reporting tools.

+ Advanced knowledge of the Drug Development process.

+ Familiarity with analyzing profit & loss statements involving net present value calculations using discounted cash flow analysis

+ Demonstrated ability to deliver consistently high quality work with attention to detail.

+ Strong analytical and conceptual skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills.

+ Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills.

+ Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
