This position within Prudential Retirement will be accountable for managing the enhancement portfolio and for development of enhancements to existing product, services and capabilities that support the Full-Service Solutions (FSS) Business.  This position will work under limited direction and be responsible for developing the enhancement prioritization process and managing the development of client specific and global enhancements designed to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the FSS product offering.  The position requires core product development skills, a firm understanding of the workplace full service, IRA and financial wellness marketplace and an understanding of intermediaries, plan sponsors and individual needs. This position requires the ability to partner with Product Management, Product Deployment, Client Experience, Client Facing Teams and Operations, Technology, and other Prudential Businesses to define, prioritize and execute on enhancements.  Position will partner with the Business Requirements Team to develop business requirements and may be required to play a project manager role on some projects. The position is responsible for managing and mitigating business and compliance risks, ensuring organizational readiness and working partnering to develop positioning for client facing teams. This role may be responsible for staff and reports to the VP, Product Development.


Primary Responsibilities:

·         Evaluate and consider requests for enhancement through assessment of related pros/cons, risk/reward, and internal implications based on a thorough understanding of the external environment and Prudential Retirement's internal constituencies, as well as managing to the determined enhancement budget.

·         Managed new requests coming into the pipeline and make tradeoff decisions based on input from key stakeholders.

·         Manage the Product Development Process for the enhancement portfolio for new and existing business.

·         Evaluate relevant industry trends and competitive environment and consider pertinent information within the Product Development process.

·         Responsible for following and documenting Product Development protocol for enhancements.

·         Establish relationships and credibility with varying levels of leaders across Retirement and communicate new information, product updates and on-going product reporting to all levels of associates.

·         Ability to manage the entire development lifecycle- from ideation to design, execution and implementation.

·         Partner with key business areas and Business Requirements Team and Technology to ensure all requirements meet needs and appropriate estimates can be achieved.

·         Achieve all compliance standards and demonstrate leadership in compliance, risk mitigation, suitability and business ethics.

·         Create a positive culture where individuals can achieve extraordinary results.


  • Minimum of 5-10 years of product development or related experience in the defined contribution, defined benefit or retail financial services industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business systems utilized within Prudential Retirement preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to make appropriate trade-offs within complex business situations composed of diverse business interests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to engage, present and influence across diverse disciplines and levels of the organization.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred.
