Description

The Director of Product Operations will be responsible for the self-install operations strategy and execution. In this role, the Director will bring together internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to identify opportunities prior to launch, prioritize a pipeline, and execute actions plans that will support kit volume goals, simplify business processes, reduce operating costs, and improve the customer and employee experience. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative with a keen focus on the ongoing improvement of the operating model.

  • Perform day to day interaction with product/program sponsor(s) on initiatives being developed and launched
  • Ability to work with large cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Plan, resource and manage self-install kit production, assembly and delivery, working closely with product, supply chain, vendor partners and internal operations teams including Sales and Care
  • Develop OEM requirements and relationships
  • Develop and track kitting budgets, forecasts and actuals
  • Develop business requirements and instructional requirements for kit production and distribution
  • Conduct prototyping and piloting of kit BOMs (Bill of Materials), instructions and other components required for efficient production and distribution of self-install kits
  • Optimize kitting design, production, assembly and delivery for each kit bill of materials
  • Identify and scope kitting process, tools, and platform improvement opportunities, focusing on reducing material and operational costs where possible while maintaining kit quality
  • Support reverse logistics process through kit enhancements
  • Monitor, validate and optimize kitting process execution and performance
  • Ensure establishment of operational performance standards and metrics
  • Assess gaps between current state and future state installation and support M&Ps (Methods and Procedures) and Tools
  • Integrate & mature operational readiness methodology into department and program processes
  • Own resolution of process and experience issues
  • Provide input on operational issues to executives and key stakeholders
  • Develop industry and competitive knowledge and partnerships


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Business or a Technical field required; MBA preferred
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in the telecommunications industry.  Product Operations experience is highly desired
  • Direct experience with Product Development and Management
  • 10+ years of proven people and project/program leadership
  • Passionate about process improvements and operational efficiencies and delivering exceptional experiences that delight customers.  Lean Six Sigma and/or Operational Excellence leadership experience strongly desired
  • Excellent analytic and strategic planning skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive business transformation in an organization where operational responsibilities are shared
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to execute against multiple projects and excel in a fast-paced, cross-functional and results-oriented work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including field service team members' management, customer care management, supply chain, cross-departmental teams and senior leadership
