ADP is hiring a Director of Public Relations to focus on technology. In this role you will be responsible for planning and executing communications programs that help tell ADP's technology story in business and trade media and across key influencers in social media and at key speaking engagements. Working collaboratively and within a matrixed organization, the person in this position will create PR plans, media messaging, PR tactics and more to communicate through the media with key clients, prospects and target audiences important to ADP. Additionally, this position works on strategic placement of subject-matter experts in key external speaking opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and tracking comprehensive PR programs in support of relevant themes, topics, lines of business and target audiences. This includes leading the creation of byline articles, generating and supporting interviews between reporters and key subject-matter experts, creating content for some of ADP's owned-media channels, writing and leveraging press releases, and more.
  • Leverage all successes for maximum impact with ADP Sales teams and elsewhere in the business.
  • Develop clear and concise communication plans, draft communications, coordinate review and approval processes and seek legal review when applicable for a wide variety of communications.
  • Partner with Marketing, Corporate Communications, senior executives, colleagues and project leaders to create innovative communication options that integrate messaging and support ADP's brand platform of \"a more human resource.\"
  • Leverage PR successes, external blog posts and more to contribute to internal communications efforts to further associate understanding and engagement across ADP.
  • Work closely with executive management and direct the communications efforts of clients willing to be profiled in PR initiatives externally.
  • Highlight client successes that arise from working with ADP; as needed.
  • Collaborate on speaking opportunities for businesses/target audiences that the role supports, identifying key opportunities and providing speaker support for same, in close consult with others on the team and colleagues in executive communications.
  • Conceptualize and develop new and interesting methods of communicating with target audiences through established media, bloggers, online outlets and more.
  • Proactively and reactively offer PR counsel and guidance to Marketing executives in businesses directly supported, and serve as a thoughtful, provocative member of ADP's center-led PR team.
  • Introduce industry best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvements to PR processes to achieve further efficiencies.
  • Track and measure the level of effectiveness of all communications.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Technical Writing or related discipline that benefits the position.
  • Held strategic position in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-profile PR or related team.
  • Strong writer able to infuse desired \"tone\" into deliverables.
  • Strong collaborator.
  • PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Experience in technology concepts such as predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud-based solutions.
  • Working knowledge in relevant trade publications
  • Ability to explain simply and clearly what can be complex technology solutions.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Keen understanding of how to craft and communicate a compelling message, and the ability to influence external audiences.
  • Experience working with or working in a PR/advertising/communications agency and/or communications team in a complex corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute impactful communications strategies.
  • Has a \"nose\" for the newsworthy story and demonstrated ability to maximize its impact.
  • High degree of comfort working with senior management and across different functional groups.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teaming, verbal, presentation and process-facilitation skills.
  • A strong leader, able to push the envelope in terms of defining and advocating for \"the art of the possible,\" while comfortable reaching out for help or guidance when it's required to drive success.
  • Proven ability to think and write journalistically, defining opportunities to differentiate ADP's business in pursuit of PR outcomes that drive business results.
  • Demonstrated editorial skills and outstanding command of the English language.
  • Strong track record of placing editorial material in external media outlets -- traditional and social.
  • Knowledge of HCM-related/HR-related media a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills for managing diverse and potentially conflicting activities.
  • Ability to identify discreet audience segments and craft messages against each and/or partner with others (e.g., Industry Analyst relations, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate and offer value in conversations with leaders more senior than the incumbent, and add value in all discussions and deliberations.
