Job Summary:  The Director of Quality Improvement is responsible for the leadership, development, operational management, implementation and execution of Prominence Health Plan’s Quality Improvement Program and oversight of a team of quality program managers and coordinators. The Director works closely with clinical and business leaders in the development and implementation of population health and quality improvement initiatives aligned with PHP’s clinical, business, quality measurement and improvement strategies.  Responsibilities include ensuring that the Quality Improvement Program meets or exceeds regulatory and accreditation requirements including NCQA,  facilitation of clinical and member experience improvement initiatives, development and implementation of the annual quality improvement plan and evaluation, management of PHP’s quality committees, and management of quality of care complaints and critical incident reporting.

Regulatory Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a clinical, business or healthcare field;
  • Master’s degree in science- or healthcare-related field strongly preferred;
  • Clinical degree preferred.

 Experience:

  • Seven or more years of experience in health plan quality management;
  • Team management and supervisory experience;
  • Experience writing healthcare quality program-related documents to meet regulatory and/or accreditation requirements;
  • Experience with CMS, State and NCQA quality requirements;
  • Experience with performance measurement and quality improvement methods;
  • Experience with organizational policy and procedure development;
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams.

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of  regulatory quality-based reporting and audit requirements;
  • Proficiency in interpreting results and formulating recommendations/action plans;
  • Ability to research and analyze state/federal regulations related to health insurance and healthcare;
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and the analysis, interpretation and evaluation of complex information;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently;
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-functional coordination and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills;
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and database software.
