What You’ll Do

You will play a major role in enabling Cisco's transition to monetizing software and cloud services by leading the Software & Services Global Supplier Management team. This team is responsible for working closely with all of Cisco’s Engineering and Advanced Services business units to source the best third-party software and services to meet the cost, quality, support and security requirements for Cisco products, cloud services and advanced service solutions.

You will be responsible for a team of Software and Cloud commodity managers and specialists located in San Jose, Lawrenceville, RTP and Bangalore. You will collaborate with many cross-functional executive leaders within Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Royalty Accounting, Finance, and Global Procurement Services.

You will develop and implement groundbreaking initiatives to enable the team and the team’s partners to continually meet and exceed joint objectives.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Define and implement sourcing strategy and processes for software and cloud services
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance for software and cloud services
  • Establishing credibility and influence with engineering development and business entity teams
  • Identify and implement software and cloud service cost saving strategies.
  • Manage and report all software and cloud service costs, and cost savings, and continually drive improved product/service gross margins.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain Technology & Quality organization to continually monitor and improve software quality from third party suppliers.
  • Partner with Product Operations to ensure third party software implemented in Cisco’s products and services are identified and traceable and all related cost of goods due to suppliers are paid timely and accurately.
  • Maintain and continue to build a high performing team to meet software and cloud sourcing and supplier management requirements for all monetization models.
  • Drive innovative and transformational strategies to improve the services provided by the team

Who You’ll Work With

This team manages supplier relationships with Cisco’s key software and cloud service suppliers and will source alternative solutions when supplier is unable to meet required cost, quality, support and/or security requirements. This organization also works in close partnership with Product Operations and Royalty Accounting to ensure royalty payments to suppliers are accurate and timely.

Who You Are

You are an experienced Senior Manager or Director. Effective at ensuring processes, systems, and people operate in concert with each other and required training, support, and metrics are in place to measure and self-correct performance. You are skilled at translating business/process improvement strategies into operational objectives and craft plans including resourcing, budgets and commitments.

  • You are accomplished at providing coaching and mentorship on job performance and career development. Deliberate at developing and nurturing a global, diverse, and inclusive team environment.
  • You have deep experience in software and cloud industry with knowledge/experience in software development, including software development processes. Knowledge of industry and technology trends.
  • You are a highly effective communicator able to collaborate with and influence executive-level (VP, SVP, C-level) leaders within Cisco and suppliers.
  • You are a Strong negotiator with experience negotiating and managing agreements with third parties.
  • You have demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and achieving results. Highly capable of managing and evolving internal processes to meet the rapidly changing software and cloud environment.
