ADP is hiring a Director, Supplier Diversity. In this position you will be responsible for leadership in managing and building a robust supplier diversity program in ADP. The mission of the Director, Supplier Diversity is to proactively seek out, identify, utilize and develop diverse businesses/enterprises that provide value and services and/or commodities which are purchased by ADP. It is also the mission of the incumbent to provide technical assistance within ADP and to appropriate minority or disadvantaged businesses to ensure a competent pool of vendors to address ADP's procurement expectations. The Director is directly accountable for leveraging ADP's supplier diversity program, including building support from internal constituencies such as sales and marketing, as well as others and identifying key opportunities for improved relations and balance of trade. Additionally, the incumbent has overall responsibility to key internal clients relative to reporting measured success in ADP's supplier diversity program(s). ADP's Director, Supplier Diversity must function as ADP's ambassador on Supplier Diversity and assume a key leadership role to provide consultative advice and support on all aspects of supplier diversity to executive management as required. The incumbent is responsible for managing business and compliance policies and processes and staying abreast of business and legal developments which can impact ADP' objectives and strategy with respect to supplier diversity and other related ADP diversity programs. The Director, Supplier Diversity directly impacts well over $500 Million annually in expenditures and provides an opportunity for about $250 Million in sales and potential revenue for ADP. An effective director is a facilitator and business partner on ADP sourcing matters and diversity in a general sense, overcoming internal objections and roadblocks to close mission critical contracts and other transactions to achieve desired results. An ineffective manager can adversely impact ADP strategic and financial goals by making costly and long term mistakes in negotiating and drafting relationship and subsequent transactions which significantly increase ADP's financial risk. * Responsibility for the development and implementation of the ADP supplier diversity policy.
* This key function must work closely with Sales, Marketing and the executive leadership to bring meaningful results to ADP's bottom line through a comprehensive and effective Supplier Diversity Program.
* In essence he/she must be a recognized and company wide advocate/ambassador of the program and specifically provide executive level leadership and direction on all matters of supplier diversity to ensure the program/process development, implementation, interpretation and review of the supplier diversity policies and processes.
* Help to identify and assist diverse or disadvantaged suppliers in doing business with ADP.
* Leverage the results of a strong supplier diversity program to influence appropriate support from a regulatory, community and government perspective and ensure that ADP meets and exceeds such requirements.
* Assure that the ADP diverse supplier base become advocates of ADP in growing ADP's businesses.
* Monitor and align corporate goals, especially sales goals and supplier diversity efforts.
* Help corporate management understand and effectively leverage the supplier diversity goals with ADP business interests.
* Support strategic goals and initiatives, preserve future business flexibility and options, minimize financial exposure and risk, and assure conformance with ADP business partner objectives.
* Manage the end-to-end supplier diversity program for all ADP strategic business groups.
* Create robust supplier diversity source list/database. Personally develop methods and procedures so that all ADP spending adheres to corporate guidelines as well as federal, state or local guidelines, e.g. SOX and requirements for diversity spending and bidding.
* Prepare an annual utilization plan that establishes ADP's certified supplier diversity expenditure goals.
* Develop and maintain key metrics and reporting tools (e.g., bid solicitations, bid responses, and patterns of inappropriate or incomplete bids from all diverse suppliers that bid to ADP) and implement innovative solutions and secure complex, unique business partnerships and arrangements to meet ADP supplier diversity needs.
* Review all formal procurement activities directed at enhancing diverse supplier business utilization and participation.
* Proactively manage relationships to ensure mission critical needs are met in a timely manner while minimizing risk and financial impact.
* Establish standardization across all Business Units to assure consistency in protecting ADP' interests and employ a collaborative management style to gain acceptance from all Business Units.
* Leverage demand across all Business Units to maximize supplier diversity within ADP.
* Provide creative, solution oriented input to manage business, legal, and financial aspects of relationships and specific transactions, while ensuring optimal results with minimal exposure and consequences to ADP.
* Communicate and educate. Communicate across all levels at ADP the strategic value associated with a supplier diversity program to ensure ADP achieves its strategic product/service, financial, and operational initiatives.
* Educate senior management, associates and ADP clients on supplier diversity by communicating the rationale, goals, and internal procedures regarding the supplier diversity program(s).
* Create accountability among strategic executives, managers and across business units for helping to ensure that all areas of the ADP value chain are fully represented by companies with effective diversity initiatives of their own.
* Develop and deliver seminars, workshops and training for ADP associates, clients and appropriate external organizations that promote the need and use of a diverse supplier base.
* Conduct qualitative and quantitative market and vendor research to continually improve the ADP supplier diversity program.
* Create programs that will result in customer loyalty because of the diversity efforts ADP makes. Lead ADP supplier diversity mentoring efforts.
* Develop a strategy for training and mentoring the supplier base by delivering programs, training workshops, etc., to help the relevant supplier base improve operations so they can better meet ADP needs.
* Advise and provide consultative support to ADP executive leaders on business, legal, and financial issues of relationships or specific transactions related to supplier diversity.
* Advise and consult with ADP senior management, sales, marketing, risk management and corporate legal regarding impact of critical relationships, and agreement issues.
* Create appropriate recognition awards to recognize both internal associates and suppliers that help the supplier diversity program succeed at ADP.
* Participate as an active member in relevant industry groups and/or professional organizations to further promote ADP's strategic goals and interests regarding supplier diversity Explore possible public/private partnerships with other agencies and businesses that may assist ADP in accomplishing increased diversity among our supplier base.
* Participate in industry-wide supplier diversity cooperatives and supplier diversity events.
* Establish ADP as a supplier diversity industry leader and communicate this to both vendors and customers as appropriate.
* Keep abreast of relevant industry, legal, and business trends as well as ADP' market, products and services, and third party developments which can impact ADP' business and strategy with respect to supplier diversity.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.


* Extensive (10+years) experience in a large corporate business with specific emphasis on: a. of a supplier diversity and diverse supplier base. b. Strategic third party relationship and subsequent transaction negotiation and closing. c. Executive direction of a supplier diversity program implementation. d. Financial analysis pertaining to program implications. e. Analysis and management of program risk and exposure.
* Bachelor's degree in Economic/Business Administration or related degree.
