Description

Cox Communications is seeking highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Director to serve as Platform Owner for the Solutions Center (Pega Rules Process Commander/Next Best Action) Platform. As Platform Owner this resource will be responsible for managing the architectural design, analysis, development, testing, and operational support and maintenance of the Solutions Center Pega Platform. This person will be also be responsible for maintaining business and cross-technology relationships, building a backlog and roadmap of functionality aligned with Cox Communication’s Customer Care strategic objectives for the Solutions Center platform.

  • Directs BSS Solutions Center teams, responsible for Solutions Center platform strategy analysis, development, testing, and support. 
  • Works closely with senior technology management to define the platform roadmap, establishing foundational guiding principles and tenets to drive a common vision and understanding of measurable objectives. 
    • Anticipates industry change and evolution, relating those changes to current and future needs.
    • Collaborate across technology in establishing a unified architectural roadmap representative of business needs and aligned with BSS defined capability mastering.
    • Oversees and leads contract negotiations and vendor management.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Solutions Center Platform internally and externally. Work with key stakeholders across the company to understand business and cross-technology needs and to align those needs with the platform roadmap.
    • Consults with business leaders to translate technical support objectives, key performance indicators, and assisted customer journeys into technical capabilities. 
  • As People Leader for the Solutions Center Platform, effectively manage, develop, and inspire direct reports and contracted resources to produce at a high level. Participate in resource planning on recurring basis. 
    • Organize & drive team activities according to accepted Agile principles and in accordance with the Solutions Center Pega engagement model. Influence and manage Product Owner Team activities including backlog health monitoring and roadmap planning.
    • Defines, directs and manages operational support organizational structures, monitoring instrumentation, and processes to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Budgetary responsibility for technology forecast, burn, and associated resource planning.

Qualifications

Minimum
  • 12+ years of software development/delivery related experience
  • Proven record of accomplishments in major Enterprise level projects
  • Minimum 3 years Customer Care experience
  • Minimum 3 years Telecommunications industry experience
  • Experience managing development, testing, and operations teams
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of end-to-end business processes required to sell and support video, high speed data, phone, and security products
  • Understanding of Hybrid Fiber Coax networks, failures points, equipment telemetry and troubleshooting processes
  • Master’s degree in related discipline
  • Experience with VersionOne, Rally
