The US Vaccines Sales Strategy and Effectiveness (SSE) Director is responsible for leading strategic initiatives and generating insights that drive executional excellence across Pfizer's Vaccines portfolio and customer-facing teams. S/he is a key business partner to Sales, Channel, and Marketing leaders in:



- Translating national strategies into local opportunities



- Assessing the business from multiple angles



- Identifying new opportunities/trends



- Developing strategic solutions and business plans and



- Defining KPIs and evaluating effectiveness







The successful candidate will lead highly visible projects and must have the communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with senior leaders. S/he will lead cross-functional teams across a wide variety of commercial partners, including Sales, Account Management, Retail Pharmacy, Marketing, Business Analytics, Finance, Operations, and Compliance/Legal. S/he must have the consultative and project management skills to align these teams and lead them through initiative development to successful execution and impact. S/he will have a high comfort level with analytics and be adept at translating data and information into meaningful insights and recommendations. This role offers the opportunity to be a key driver of strategic planning and execution across Vaccines Sales and Marketing functions and is part of a highly engaged, collaborative team with a demonstrated track record of preparing colleagues for promoted positions in sales leadership, marketing, chief of staff, finance, and advanced analytics roles.







**Key Responsibilities**



**Be a key business partner to senior sales/channel leaders and their teams in developing strategic insights and business plans that optimize impact**



Facilitate the development and continuous assessment of annual Business Plans



Foster a productive and positive business review environment by working with leaders to diagnosis performance drivers and develop robust action plans to address recent trends and performance



Proactively identify "real-world" opportunities and gaps in strategy/ tactical execution through deep understanding of local market dynamics and strong engagement with field-based colleagues



Be viewed as a strategic expert and drive execution through influence with front line sales teams







**Analyze, diagnose and provide insights into field force effectiveness and brand performance**



Lead the development of key performance indicators and standardized dashboards/metrics



that are aligned with brand strategies and monitor performance against established goals throughout the year



Continuously assess the business from multiple angles and identify opportunities to expand, improve, and innovate customer/market insights



Collaborate with Business Analytics partners to enhance effectiveness and ROI assessments to inform field force strategy and deployment



Provide marketing teams with strategic insights and thought leadership on sub-national brand performance drivers and sales force effectiveness



Collaborate and build strong partnerships with peers and cross-functional partners, ensure successes and failures are identified and shared, identify training and development opportunities, and promote sharing of best practices across teams







**Provide strategic leadership to marketing and sales initiatives**



Lead cross-functional teams in the development, execution, and governance of field force deployment strategies, market assessments, scenario modeling, and resource allocation



Lead/work with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions for key initiatives, such as:



Micro-marketing programs



Field Enablement platforms/technology



Customer/Channel-focused opportunities



Be a core contributor to the marketing teams by lending strategic and analytical expertise to the annual Operating Plan process and collaborating to develop sales strategies and aligned field direction to pull-through key operating plan levers



Provide expert consultation and project management to all assigned initiatives - Engage relevant stakeholders, objectively assess potential solutions, clearly define project deliverables and timelines, develop communication/change management plans, manage and proactively communicate risks







**Qualifications**



BA/BS Degree required. MBA or other advanced professional degree preferred



8 - 10 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales/consulting experience with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry



2+ years of direct commercial experience in business analytics, brand marketing, market research, key account management, and/or strategic consulting required



Excellent analytical skills, including strategic thinking, ability to frame problems and opportunities using supporting data, problem solving and measuring impact



Demonstrated proficiency at leading complex multi-faceted projects and managing cross-functional teams



A thought leader and self-starter who will proactively identify needs/opportunities and marshal the resources to evaluate and resolve challenging, strategic issues



Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead change and influence without direct authority



Ability to influence and establish good working relationships with senior executives



Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and meeting facilitation skills



Passion for innovation and excellence in achieving results



Travel as needed to meet with sales/channel, marketing, and project teams



Travel also required for team meetings, national and regional sales meetings, etc.







**Technical Skills**



A high-level of proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint is required and MS Access preferred
