*Role Description*

The Business Development Director is part of the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH) Business Development team and will be responsible for executing strategic transactions for Pfizer. The individuals in these roles will each be aligned and work closely PCH platform teams (e.g. Better Breathing), contributing to the strategy and leading the process to identify, evaluate and execute BD transactions to support the strategy and objectives. When transaction opportunities are identified, this individual will ensure appropriate cross-functional participation and will actively manage the financial analysis and evaluation of overall merits and risks of opportunities, negotiate terms with third parties, and lead efforts to obtain internal feedback and approvals from senior management to finalize the transaction. This individual will work with BD and colleagues across all functions to execute transactions across a range of deal structures including licensing, M&A, co-development/commercial collaborations, or others. As needed, the individual will work on integration programs.


Specific responsibilities include:*Lead and oversee the identification, evaluation, and execution of BD transactions, including M&A, licensing, and co-development/co-commercialization or co-promote deals *Partner with the relevant leaders to understand strategies and priorities, provide input from the external landscape, and establish clear goals and priorities for BD*Conduct financial or other analyses and documentation that establish the business justification and risk/rewards of proposed deals diligence teams to advance analysis and conclusions*Monitor and evaluate external opportunities that are aligned with business priorities; ensure new data is reviewed as it becomes available*Work with team leaders to facilitate and make decisions on BD opportunities aligned with the strategy and Pfizer Inc*Establish process and timelines to manage execution of transactions in timely manner; manage and streamline deal governance process and ensure compliance with CP105*Knowledgeably represent Pfizer globally in discussions with current and potential partners or other external audiences; demonstrate collaboration, creativity, and responsiveness with all potential partners *Maintain, cultivate, and build relationships with other Group-relevant companies and broadly within the consumer healthcare community; represent Pfizer at partnering meetings/conferences*Build and manage collaborative relationships across the organization and create internal alignment*As a key leader for the platform team, actively participate in, challenge and support the team*Lead and support initiatives to manage and continually improve the WWBD function and develop its colleagues and culture


*Business degree required*Prior experience required working closely with, advising, and presenting to senior leaders *Minimum of 10 years related business experience, with preference for experience leading and/or significantly contributing to licensing, partnership, M&A, or other relevant transactions*Prior experience required leading the evaluation (including financial valuation and business assessment), execution, and negotiation of BD transactions including licensing, collaboration, M&A, or other relevant transactions preferred*Prior experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, business/corporate development, strategy or consulting, finance or equity analysis/investment banking/venture capital*Innovative thinker with resourceful and creative problem solving skills*Experience with developing or negotiating effective, strategically aligned, value creating partnerships or other transactions*Strong relationship building (internal and external) and negotiation skills; ability to persuade/influence and effectively gain agreement/consensus*Strong and effective verbal and written communication capabilities*Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results within tight time constraintsNON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS International travel required from time to time.
