Job Description

The Smiths Snackfood Company, based in Tingalpa, is seeking a talented individual to join our team in the role of Distribution Centre Administrator. Reporting to the Distribution Centre Frontline Manager, this position is responsible for driving an efficient supply chain of inventory for the site. This will include liaising with internal customers and service providers to ensure optimum inventory levels whilst maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Work closely within the inventory team, other sites and transport providers to provide support to manage sales demand and prioritisation of inventory requirements.
  • Mange Daily stock In Transit and set priority of warehouse unload activities. Follow up with DC Manager & / or freight service provider / 3rd party warehouse to expedite shipments where necessary;
  • Monitor and report on all matters of site Inventory including Low code / Out of stock / Transit & availability to ensure colleagues are able to make informed decisions to benefit business goals;
  • Assist the Inventory Manager in managing all aspects of the trade marketing activities build including posting, reconciliation variance analysis and consolidation of supporting documentation;
  • Execute quality procedures ensuring accurate system control, documentation and physical isolation of all applicable inventories.
  • Ensure the generation and monitoring of reports to ensure accuracy / integrity and security of inventory along with maintaining and updating the product returns process to ensure company policy is being maintained.
  • Assist in the management of stock including ordering, stocktake, low code report, damages, reconciling of stock variance analysis and consolidation of supporting documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of inventory discrepancy transactions on SAP along with invoices for freight and services.
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people;
  • Provide administrative support to the Supply and Distribution management team as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Advanced analytical and numerical skills
  • Knowledge of inventory and distribution processes as well as thorough knowledge of effective warehousing
  • Advanced computer skills along with a sound knowledge of SAP or ERP systems
  • Effective influencer with strong communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities and use sound judgment
  • Ability to act as a customer interface and problem solver
  • Ability to implement improvements and initiatives in reducing levels of slow moving stock
  • Knowledge of the FMCG / Manufacturing industry would be highly regarded
