Job Description

Position Summary

Assists in transportation and providing patient centered care for patients to and from internal and external appointments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing transportation services as needed and/or directed (airport pickups and drop offs, and outside appointments).

  • Responsible for all vehicle transportation and maintenance logs.

  • Responsible for daily inspection of all vehicles making sure vehicle are fueled and clean.

  • Performs the preventative maintenance on all vehicles in conjunction with the Maintenance personnel.

  • Answers all calls and directs accordingly

  • Coordinates/schedules the repair appointments also in conjunction with Maintenance personnel.

  • Assess the vehicles and determines if there are any items that need repair.

  • Responsible for the fueling, and turning in of the subsequent credit card receipts.

  • Responsible for reviewing the pre-check sheets, and signing off on these sheets.

  • Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to inspire patient confidence in the FRN Staff and the FRN Model of Treatment.

  • Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated professionalism, tact and diplomacy.

  • Must have general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel).

  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.

  • Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain immediately.

  • Current Michigan chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain immediately.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Knowledge of mental health/addiction treatment preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in commercial driving preferred.

  • Behavioral health or medical experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Sits, stands, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to be physically mobile, climb stairs, traverse the campus on uneven, hilly terrain.

  • Position requires some work on the computer requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.

  • A current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required for use of company vehicles.

  • Due to the 24/7 operational demands, must be available after normal working hours and on holidays to manage emergencies that may arise.
