Description The Data Test and Activation Engineer is responsible for provisioning support and guidance to IP service customers as well as organizations within AT&T. Data Test and Activation Engineer has a high level of skills on WAN technologies, customer router solutions, backbone device configurations, and tools and systems that support the end-to-end WAN circuits.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

Key Responsibilities and Account-abilities

• The major responsibilities/skill sets represented in these functions are: providing provisioning support and guidance to BVOIP customers, representing customer requirements throughout a project.

• Conducts testing for voice features, interface with the VNCC for VoIP network element provisioning issues and LOCAL to resolve Switch translation automation fall-out.

• Coordinate with and interact as an advocate to the vendor to resolve technical issues as well as troubleshoot with vendors, customers, and peers, and perform root cause analysis.

• Implement changes to new or existing products and features and will need to have the skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.

Job specific skills

• Solid experience in : TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, MPLS, routing & switching protocols.

• CCNA certified with minimum 3.5 years’ experience in networking technologies.

• For this position candidates should possess excellent verbal communication skills and proficient writing ability.

• Problem solving, able to work under pressure with perfect time management.

• Resourcefulness and flexibility.

• Self-motivated, proactive and willing to take ownership and responsibility.

**Key Competencies and Skills:**

Technical Skills and Expertise

• Requires good knowledge of Tier 1 ISP's Routing Policies (WAN experience) as well as Network design, Routing, DNS, IP Subneting, TCP/IP protocol,(BGP, OSFP, RIP, and EIGRP) Security: NAT Configuration, Firewalls, Telecommunications.

• Good knowledge of (OCX, T3, fractional T3, T1's and fractional T1, ATM, and Frame Relay, Voice Over-IP). Hardware (Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers and switches configuration).


• Excellent English, both written and spoken

• Knowledge of Communication Technologies and Networking Technologies: TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, LAN, WAN.

• Proficiency with software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

• Strong data entry and PC skills

**Education and Qualifications:**

University (Bachelos or equivalent Technical Degree)

CCNA Certification is desirable but not essential, we expect DTAC engineers to have strong knowledge about CCNA even without certification

**Additional Information:**

DTAC Engineers work in shifts, the team provides 24/7 support to customers. Shifts depend on customers’ requirements

Mostly: 24x7x365/ Rotates between shifts starting 4:30 PM/ 6:30 PM/ 8:30 PM
