Job Details


+ Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) is a PGS-wide effort to design, implement, and sustain a Pfizer production system, with an objective to reach world class manufacturing practices and performance across the PGS network

+ The role focuses on a specific functional scope of Drug Product plant operations included but not limited to designing lean processes (eg, visual management, standard work, etc.) within all aspects of production (eg, dispensing, formulation, blending, granulation, drying, compression, coating, encapsulation)

+ The role is accountable for the design of production system components and their underlying detailed standards for Drug Product operations ecosystem.

+ The incumbent will apply and balance the principles of 'best in class', 'practical solutions' and 'one best way' to develop rapidly deployable, world class production system components

+ including but not limited to ensuring consistency and integration with other ecosystems, as well as overseeing the pilot, refinement and ongoing Continuous improvement (CI) of IMEx operating standards

+ 'One best way' design requires the aggregation of inputs from multiple stakeholders; Workshop based processes will be used to evaluate current and external approaches and to align on an agreed model

+ The role will oversee piloting, refinement and ongoing CI of the design proposals

+ The role is critical for ensuring consistency and integration across other ecosystem designs


+ The role is accountable for the design of production system components and their underlying detailed standards for Drug Product operations ecosystem (ie, installation of key lean processes - visual management, standard work, etc.)

+ Aggregate inputs from multiple operational stakeholders to reach alignment on 'one best way'; Address stakeholder concerns and ensure true alignment on design

+ Understand true world class approaches from outside of PGS; Incorporate these opportunities into the design process

+ Balance the drive for world class against the need for practical solutions

+ Ensure consistency and effective integration across ecosystems; Partner with IMEx team members to share and learn best practices

+ Ensure that ecosystem designs are delivered on time and codified effectively; Develop playbooks to support ecosystem deployment training

+ Align site stakeholders to ensure designs are piloted, refined and improved effectively; Ensure final designs are workable

+ Own and drive the CI of ecosystem standards; Drive innovation while ensuring stability in the global design for deploying sites; Use impact and value as a condition for refinement inclusion

+ Bachelor or BS degree in a Technical or Business field with 10+ years of relevant experience; Master degree in business administration or technical discipline a plus

+ Direct line management of Drug Product physical workcenters and/or entire manufacturing sites, utilizing large scale operations, quality, and other key technical teams

+ Technical knowledge and experience with Drug Product production system design inclusive of but not limited dispensing, formulation, blending, granulation, drying, compression, coating, encapsulation, etc.

+ Installation and direct oversight, management, and operational usage of teams employing production system tools (e.g., visual management, standard work, asset and operator equipment care, continuous improvement processes, etc.)

+ Demonstrated impact using continuous improvement opportunities (e.g., lead time reduction, increase in throughput, reduction in downtime, etc.)

+ Intellectual rigor and flexibility/tenacity to manage design trade-offs; Evidence of innovation, problem-solving and structured thinking skills

+ Practicality to deliver workable solutions

+ Execution-focused, fully capable of supporting processes from strategy to implementation

+ Strong presentation and facilitation skills with an ability to succinctly and creatively present robust and evidence-based messages with a technical basis

+ Excellent communication skills to enable interactions at various levels and influence broad spectrum of PGS leaders and colleagues; Demonstrated track record of leading and influencing organizations and/or teams

+ Proven capabilities in program management with a knowledge of best practice tools and methodologies; Experience in successfully executing projects with small to medium size teams

+ Experience integrating functions and/or delivering org transformations

+ Strong proficiency in Excel analytics and PowerPoint materials geared for senior site audiences; Experience with SAP systems strongly preferred

+ Fluency in English required
