Job Description

::Under the direction of the Administrative Manager of Medical Education this individual coordinates the daily operations of the Traditional Rotating Internship Program by ensuring that accreditation standards are met, educational activities which support the curriculum are established, departmental policies are created and enforced, and recruitment strategies are implemented so that a highly successful Internship program is maintained. Other duties include project coordination, House Staff orientation, web site development, Hospital Day event planning and additional clerical functions for the department of Medical Education. Takes and transcribes meeting minutes; prepares for program inspections; develops Intern rotation schedules and processes evaluations on New Innovations; processes Interns’ payroll, CME days and expenses; assists in the credentialing of faculty physicians, recruitment of interns and medical students as needed and coordinates and distributes the rotation schedules. The GME Program Coordinator I will be prepared to assume responsibility for coordination of future Fellowship programs, as these become accredited by the AOA/ACGME.  The GME Program Coordinator I is responsible for compliance with corporate guidelines, federal, state and local regulations and is accountable to the Administrative Manager of Medical Education. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

::

High school diploma required.  Bachelor degree preferred.

Detail oriented individual and good organizational skills.  Ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Five years clerical/administrative experience in the health care industry with 2 years previous administrative experience in a teaching hospital.   Previous medical education experience preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skill detail oriented and organizational skills required.

Typing – 60 WPM required; must be computer literate.
