Description:

The EHS Manager - Audit & Risk Assessment supports the PBC Division. The incumbent will be based remotely within the US, and reports into the EHS Director - Systems & Process. The incumbent oversees and directs the partnered contractor delivery of over 200 PBC environmental audits per year, including related regulatory applicability analyses, audit corrective action plan development and quarterly tracking of audit corrective actions to closure. This role also oversees the design, roll-out, and implementation a comprehensive EHS Risk Assessment Process within the business. This role provides matrixed support to PBC Business Unit Environmental Managers to assist in field delivery and execution of environmental compliance and risk management programming.

  • Coordinates with Corporate PepsiCo for the roll-out/implementation of the Global PepsiCo Global EHS Mgmt Systems (GEHSMS) audits. Providing feedback to the Corporate staff on protocol changes and coordination to select Corporate-approved vendors
  • Manages/oversees the audit and site-visit schedule for all of PBC. Coordination with many of EHS business partners to coordinate schedules for EHS and DOT audits/risk assessments/IH, PSM assessments/regulatory agencies schedules
  • Oversees development and delivery of a comprehensive regulatory applicability analysis (RAA) process for PBC facilities. Works with audit contractor/RegScan to assure consistent application of the tool on the front end of EHS audits
  • Works with the contractor to assure effective and comprehensive EHS audit protocols are in place: both for delivery of the audit, also for facility-level self-assessment against the audit requirements. Assures audit protocols accurately reflect pertinent federal/state/local EHS requirements
  • Builds audit corrective action plan tracking templates and oversees (monitors the effectiveness and consistency of) audit contractor population of facility-by-facility audit corrective actions. Assures the integrity and consistency of the quarterly audit CAP tracking to closure process
  • Continually evaluates the effectiveness and function of the PBC EHS audit process and suggests continuous improvements, as required. Verifies all portions of the audit process meet the PepsiCo EHS Audit Standard
  • Participates in the roll-out/implementation of environmental information management systems across the enterprise (EiOS / EMIS). Assists with the development of the environmental compliance task mgr modules in both systems, working with a partnered contractor (Strata) to write ENV compliance tasks from requirements identified in the RAA. Supports the integration of the entire PBC business into PepsiCo's EMIS system.
  • Tracks/reviews changes to existing federal/state/local environmental regulations and new proposed regulations for the business. Identifies PBC business impacts and environmental programming needs related to these changes.
  • Develops and oversees PBC's EHS Aspects / Impacts Analysis process. Oversees the partnered contractor delivery of this risk assessment process and assures process alignment and reapplication of common environmental risk controls across the enterprise. Develops and delivers training to local PBC facilities on the Aspects / Impacts Analysis process.
  • Reviews the EHS Risk Assessment reports from the consults and works with PBC facilities to develop site-level action plans to address EHS risks
  • Periodically evaluates all EHS standards and risk management programming to assure continuing effectiveness, makes improvements, where warranted.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related fields. Advanced environmental degree and/or related certifications preferred
  • 10 or more years of exp in the environmental mgmt field
  • Environmental management exp in the food/beverage industry/related industry, including CPG goods/pharmaceutical/similar manufacturing industry is strong preferred
  • Previous auditor exp-compliance and systems-based EMS auditing/knowledge of ISO auditing
  • Exp with EMIS systems and/or implementations of a EMIS software solution/experience with RAA software (ART and/or REGSCAN) exp in administering an environmental information mgmt system (EMIS) for a large business are required/Exp in the development and oversight of a company-wide environmental audit process
  • Understands and can articulate environmental/health and safety regulations/GEHSMS internal standards
