ROLE SUMMARY



This position will report to the Site ENG/EHS lead. The EHS and Facilities Specialist is responsible to provide EHS and Facilities support to the site. This includes support of the site safety program, site facility and maintenance activities and the associated administrative duties.



Experienced in Industrial Safety - especially in the manufacturing facilities areas.



Knowledge and/or experience with understanding and implementing OSHA regulatory requirements.



Solid experience in building successful safety cultures and demonstrates the ability to successfully influence and engage colleagues has the ability to partner with cross functional teams.



The ability to solve technical problems and provide technical support.



Other Principle Accountabilities:



1. Provide health and safety support to Pfizer colleagues, contractors, and operations through various methods such as risk assessments, investigations, project management, etc.



2. Analyze existing and planned programs, processes, training, to develop and implement proactive strategies to minimize safety incidents.



3. Facilitate incident investigations







ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES







The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:



EHS **(60%):**







+ Support execution of safety program initiatives under the direction of the Site ENG/EHS lead



+ Evaluates Safety and Health risks and provides key support to the Albany site for the purposes of ensuring a high standard of compliance to all relevant regulations and Pfizer standards.



+ Routinely coordinates and tracks site safety equipment and systems inspections



+ Works closely with other Pfizer EHS professionals, Engineering, and Site Operating Units (at a variety of levels), to improve the safety of colleagues and associated systems along with ensuring compliance with EHS requirements



+ Provide colleagues with Safety Training, as assigned



+ Leads Safety Champions meetings



+ Perform EHS Risk Assessments for various site activities



+ Collaborates with Pfizer Consumer safety network to support above site safety programs or initiatives



+ Responsible for reporting EHS metrics monthly, quarterly, and annually



+ Updates and maintains Safety and Facility standard operation procedures



+ Leads Safety Incident Investigations







Provide technical support/review for the evaluation of machine guarding, lockout, safe work permitting practices. Acts as the primary technical SME in assigned subject areas such as







+ lockout, confined space, hot work, safe work permitting, fall protection, safety inspections, safety culture, EHS investigations, management of change, etc.



+ Manages EHS reporting systems







Facilities (40%):







+ Coordinate all facilities maintenance work to properly maintain Albany's Site facilities.



+ Track all Facilities WOs until completion.



+ Inspect and assure quality control and safety execution of all facilities work performed.



+ Request and coordinate the services of Facilities Contractor, as necessary.



+ Perform facilities general inspections and preventive maintenance for deterioration, cleanliness and orderliness.



+ Follow-up any finding and/or corrective work resulting from the inspections/preventive maintenance.



+ Ensure Pest Control activities occur per schedule.



+ Support management of engineering drawings



+ Support meeting room setup as needed



+ Perform mailing coordination duties, as required.







QUALIFICATIONS







**EDUCATION:**







+ Bachelor Degree in Health & Safety, or closely related discipline, preferred and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.



+ Associate Degree in Health & Safety, or closely related discipline, preferred and a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant professional experience



+ High School Diploma required, 4-7 years of relevant professional experience.



+ Board certification as an Associate Certified Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus.



+ Practical experience in Manufacturing or similar environment is required.







**EXPERIENCE:**







+ Minimum (3) years experience working with manufacturing environment, GMP or ISO environment a plus.



+ Minimum two (2) experience working with a site EHS program based on education requirements above



+ Preferred candidates will have experience with interpreting and implementing OSHA regulations



+ Experience with electronic inventory systems is a plus, i.e. EAMS, SAP



+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).



+ Ability to operate mail processing equipment.



+ Set up and operation of Lift equipment.



+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.



+ Have good time management skills



+ Good customer service skills.



+ Maintains strict confidentiality.



+ Team Player. Project Management Skills, plus







PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



Candidates should be capable of walking and climbing in a variety of work environments both inside and outside of buildings on a variety of work surfaces.







NON-STANDARD WORK







+ Candidate will be expected to be on call 24/7 for safety investigation and or ensuring an area is in a safe state to release to production and at times may need to extend work schedule to manage workload.
