Job Description

You will manage a team of experienced Software Engineers and will help to deliver on Cisco’s roadmap for a unified feature rich OS to power Enterprise Networking and IoT.  You will recruit, train, mentor and develop a team capable of delivering a cutting edge, powerful and flexible Operating System.

Role and Responsibilities:

    Lead talented group of engineers to deliver exceptional results by focusing efforts and enabling the team to succeed

    Manage employee career development and employee performance

    Promote and nurture team spirit and culture across the global team built on open communication, collaboration, teamwork, trust and integrity.

    Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and product management to develop product roadmap

    Manage project from conception to integration to delivery

    Develop training materials, tools, contingency plans and whatever else is required to make product successful

   Innovate every single day.


Who You'll Work With:


    Other OS Infrastructure managers both locally and remote to deliver on the roadmap.

    HW platform teams looking to ship new products and support existing products

    Application teams with unique requirements

    Product Management teams to refine the roadmap

    Project Management teams to coordinate schedules



Who You Are

Minimum qualification:

    Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

    Minimum 10 years of hands-on developer experience

    3 years of people management

 

Desired Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Thorough Knowledge of Linux at a System Level

    10+ years experience in C/C++, Python, Make, Bash or similar languages

    Strong understanding of computing concepts such as Memory Management, Filesystems, SMP, ARM, MIPS, x86, bootloaders

    Tools and Compilers: gcc and/or clang, linkers, loaders, gdb, git, Jenkins

    Intermediate Networking Knowledge

    Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, good teammate

   Strong team building skills.
