As the Commercial Finance Director you will work as part of the Sales and Services Finance team, who are key business partners to Cisco’s sales organization all across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR). The Commercial Finance Director is responsible for driving a team that shapes deals and is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, analysing and reporting activities across the P&L including Bookings, Revenue, Gross Margin and Operating Expenses.

As a Commercial Finance Director you will be part of the EMEAR team and will report directly to the EMEAR Vice President of Finance.

This role will have the additional opportunity to be the Finance site Leader for our Competence Center in Krakow, Poland where Cisco has built and is growing a top-class hub of 170+  professionals across finance functions: controllership, accounting, tax, audit. In this role you will partner with the leaders of other Cisco sites across the globe to drive development, training, business relevance and advocate next generation finance operations.

 

Key responsibilities

 

·       Commercially shaping  deals to generate optimum financial returns and ensure compliance

·       Working with sales and legal to understand commercial opportunities and develop negotiation strategies to optimize for Cisco

·       Building and presenting financial business cases to senior decision makers

·       Partnering with sales teams and in particular the EMEAR Sales Leadership Team to work deals through to closure

·       Manage a team providing analytics on: operational process efficiency, pricing, competition and compliance

·       Partner with sales and finance to develop competitive attack programs, and pricing strategies and promotions

·       Managing a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and leadership

·       Supporting the theatre Finance VP in managing the P&L and providing insights into the business

·       Ensuring SOX compliance

 

Finance Site leadership responsibilities

 

Connect finance teams: extend collaboration among teams. Build team identity. Promote regular communication. Drive consistency in the finance experience across multiple teams. Tie the Krakow team to the global Cisco Finance organisation.

 

Enable: local steward for people, processes and systems. Act as mentor and guide for Finance employees. Support career development programs for the site. Advocate for the Finance function and its employees.

 

The Commercial Finance Director will possess the desired skills

 

·       Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong commercial awareness and understanding of revenue recognition

·       Strong influencing skills, leadership skills and the ability to lead a finance team

·       Experience of working with senior management and sales/marketing teams and ability to drive change and challenge decision making where necessary

·       Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence and strength to challenge the status quo

·       Extensive experience in a similar environment

·       Experience in large, complex organisations would be advantageous

·       Proven managerial experience is essential

·       Experience in past cross-functional or leadership roles of a virtual team is advantageous

·       Technology/Telecoms/IT industry experience preferable but not essential
