What You'll Do

Cisco is funding a small, agile, product development team to innovate and build a new product offering in the NFV space. Here you will be designing, implementing and empowering the next generation router platform independent software. You will be working in a fast paced agile development team working with cutting edge software and tools to develop and bring to market disruptive solutions with a focus on simplicity and ease of use. Over time as customer adoption increases, the software will be adopted in multiple platforms and will be further utilized as the basis for many future products. 

Who You'll Work With:

Cisco IOS-XR software is a modular and fully distributed network operating system that powers Cisco's cutting-edge routing/switching systems like the CRS-1/3, ASR9000 and NCS6000 in service provider networks. The IOS-XR group is building next generation platforms that will transform the Web/OTT and SP datacenter space.

Who You Are:

ü BE/BTECH with EE/CS degree and with 6+ years of related experience.

ü Experience in embedded SW programming and in-depth experience in SW development on multi-processing and multi-threading OS

ü Good understanding and experience of networking protocols and Optical technologies will added advantage.

ü Proficient in C/C++ programming

ü Experience in all phases of SW development cycle with some exposure to agile development methodologies

ü Experience in SW development in a large and complex system, such as a router/switch

ü Excellent problem solving skills with a can do attitude

ü Experience with scripting language like Python will be good to have.

ü Experience with Linux Kernel/application development and testing. Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisors highly desirable.

ü Experience with dealing Open Source community.

ü Experience in identifying and redesigning code to address system scale and performance issues.
