Cisco's High End Router test team seeks an exceptional software test engineer to lead development and testing a broad range of next generation features as part of its Software Development Test Team.

Who You'll Work With:

We are the CSG SP PD System test team and are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about quality to investment in our platform. The ASR9000/NCS500 are  high end routers that is utilized by service providers and large enterprises around the world, and provides multiple terabits of data for our end users every day. We work in a high paced, challenging, agile environment

Who You Are:

You are a professional who demonstrates their ability to analyze feature requirements and design specifications, write effective "Black Box" test strategies and plans, execute and automate test cases, create test harnesses, validate code paths, analyze and debug both internal and customer reported issues.
You have experience in L2-L4 networking technologies and a strong knowledge of agile practices and experience in agile teams.
The ideal candidate will have solid networking protocols knowledge and experience in creating automated test in TCL, and/or Python.
Typically, you would be a MSEE/CS combined solid understanding of network protocols and  6-8+ years of related experience; or
BSEE/CS combined with 9+ year’s related experience including 2-3 years of experience as a lead

What You'll Do:

- Programming skills C/C++, Perl/TCL/Expect, Linux.
- Proven background in leading SW development and testing teams, automation, and test execution.
- Networking background, hands-on experience, familiarity with Cisco devices is desired.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, both written and spoken.
- In-depth knowledge of one or more LAN/WAN and network layer protocols.
- Proficiency with test equipment such as Spirent and IXIA.
- Proficiency with internal interfaces and process interactions.
- Full use and application of standard networking theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Debug, document and verify problems at the subsystem level.
- Understand product level architecture.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems of moderate scope, exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
You may also be responsible for providing technical consultation and leadership in the design and development efforts of complex engineering projects.  
This may include the following:
§ Working with key customers in assigned areas to determine or create technical approaches to satisfy market needs.
§ Initiation of informal reviews of ideas and technical objectives within and across business units.
§ Technical decisions that will affect project, functional unit and/or deadlines.
§ Be viewed as a technical resource by peers and partners.
Interface cross-functionally and lead collaboration extending beyond workgroup.
