Job Details

The R3 Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and leading engineering activities associated with the startup and ultimately the ongoing operation of the R3 facility. Engineering activities include equipment selection, acquisition, installation, commissioning, cycle development and ongoing maintenance and support to Manufacturing, Validation and Project Engineering groups. Person will be responsible for ensuring proper staffing of resources to meet aggressive timelines and activities against the overall project schedule. The support includes problem resolution, investigation support, identifying and implementing process improvements . In addition to these responsibilities, this individual will work with CenterOne group to transfer new products/technologies into the site. This position will support internal and external audits. The individual manages departmental budget while meeting diverse and aggressive goals for new products and improved process changes. This position will have a heavy focus on Process engineering initially and will transition into more of a Maintenance management role in the long term.

**Role Responsibilities:**

+ Manages the R3 Engineering & maintenance team and project budget against the overall project schedule.

+ Direct oversight of the engineers assigned to deliver the new R3 manufacturing facility.

+ Provide technical expertise for Manufacturing and Validation operations as related to process/validation excursions and process improvements/development.

+ Manages the scale-up and transfer of new products.

+ Identify, develop and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.

+ Coach and mentor junior staff.


+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related discipline, required.

+ Master's Degree in Engineering, or related discipline, preferred.

+ 5 to 10 years of direct experience in a pharmaceutical facility within engineering or management required

+ 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience. Managerial experience preferred.

+ Development/process engineering experience preferred

+ Active Involvement in ISPE and PDA guidelines is a plus.

+ Thorough knowledge of cGMP, safety and environmental regulatory requirements.

+ Direct Experience in a parenteral facility will be desirable.

**Physical/Mental Requirements:**

+ Must be able to function under a stressful situation while being able to remain focused at the necessary requirements. In addition, must be able to appropriately identify and escalate issues on a timely basis.
