What You'll Do

The key role of the Virtual Partner Software Systems Engineer is to drive Software & Programmability enablement for our Distributors and Tier 2 partners.

. Work closely with Theatre Partner Engineering team to understand their enablement needs and strategy in the Tier 2 space around Software & Programmability
. Occasionally provide training to the Disti and Tier 2 partners
. Regular syn up with Architecture and DevNet team to drive initiatives and DevNet events for the Tier 2 partners
. To provide expertise in infrastructure programmability, software defined networking, Open Source platforms and projects, and both Cisco and industry standard Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
. To actively share knowledge and developments both internally and externally
. Understand the problem and challenges network engineers are facing in their daily operations and facilitate discussion on how programmability can solve some of these challenges.

Who You'll Work With

The Virtual Partner Engineering Team
We are creating the new Virtual Partner Engineering team (VPSE) to help support the APJ Theater Partner Systems Engineers (PSE). The PSE's in the theaters are the engineers that drive new technology and innovation into our top Tier 1 (135 Gold) partners (Strategic and Coverage). There is a significant gap in allocation of resources to tier 2 partners and the VPSE team will help focus on the Growth and Programmatic Partners and our Distributors.

The Virtual Partner Systems Engineering team will help support the Tier 2 partners and distributors in each in the theaters by working with the theater PSE's in building a repeatable model across APJ.

Who You Are

. CCNA and/or CCNP certifications
. Enterprise or Campus LAN/ WAN infrastructure (network, storage, compute, virtualization & automation) Design/Implementation experience
. Knowledge of programming such as C, C++, Java
. Familiarity with a scripting language, preferably bash, Python, Perl.
. Familiar with Cisco DevNet i.e. developer.cisco.com
