Position Description






As a key member of the Enterprise Storage Services team, you will be accountable for advancing our Storage capabilities to add business value for our Fortune 10 enterprise. The successful candidate will be able to blend technology advancements with fiscal responsibility. Core components of the role will include:




  • Develop strategic storage technologies for key business programs

  • Collaborate with Capacity Planning and Engineering on solution development

  • Contribute to solutioning and business case development (including associated financials)

  • Accountable for final sign off for any Storage solutions

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all solutions

  • Drive a 3 - 5 year roadmap for Storage (ensuring continuity across Distributed SAN & NAS, Data Protection, Mainframe and Object areas)

  • Own vendor relationships relative to Storage, while ensuring an enterprise view

  • Drive cost efficiencies with vendor contracts and negotiate rebates as appropriate

  • Identify and develop opportunities for favorable multi-year agreements with vendors

  • Work closely with Sourcing & Procurement to initiate the procurement process for new products

  • Drive storage technology acquisition process

  • Develop and manage an approximately $50M annual capital budget

  • Develop communications campaign to explain and defend budgeted items

  • Work with team to solve for budget challenges as needed 

  • Evaluate emerging technologies such as SDS, Open Design and Cloud

  • Identify PLM opportunities and risks associated with aging assets






Candidates will possess:




  • 15 + years of experience in the Technology profession

  • 5 + years of experience serving in a leadership capacity

  • Proven expertise in the Enterprise Storage domain

  • Direct experience working in an environment storing multiple petabytes (PB) of data

  • Direct experience creating business cases with financials

  • Demonstrated success explaining business cases to executive leaders to secure funding for ideas

  • Prior responsibility for creating and managing $10M + budgets

  • History of vendor management and the proven ability to influence vendors

  • Track record of successful collaborations with cross-functional teams

  • Experience working with global teams
